Re:X is an Android module for changing parts of the X app that ordinary in-app settings may not expose. It offers controls for appearance, navigation, timelines, posts and media, but it requires a rooted Android device and LSPosed. It is a fit for experienced users willing to manage version compatibility and accept the account-risk warning reported by the guide—not a simple settings tweak for every X user.
What Re:X is—and what it is not
Re:X (repository name one.dot.rex) is an open-source Android module that modifies the X app. It is not a standalone social app, an X setting, or a customization tool that works simply by installing it on an unmodified phone. The installation guide describes enabling it through LSPosed, which requires root access.
The feature list below reflects what the DroidWin guide reports; these options are not independently verified guarantees, and behavior can vary with the installed X build. Re:X release notes also show that fixes may be specific to particular X versions.

What can Re:X customize?
Appearance and media presentation
- Use dynamic colors and set light or dark splash-screen colors.
- Replace the X logo with the Twitter bird, change navigation and compose icons, or use the system font and Twemoji.
- Adjust image transitions and display multi-image posts as horizontal carousels.
Navigation and drawers
- Show or hide bottom navigation tabs and drawer items.
- Change drawer width and add a Re:X settings entry.
Timeline, profile and search
- Hide selected items such as promoted posts, Spaces, the new-post prompt, Premium prompts, or profile and search tabs.
- Restore the previously selected tab and scroll position, and control automatic refresh.
- Change photo-picker behavior.
Posts, sharing and downloads
- Download video and GIF media, adjust text-selection actions, and change the domain used in share links.
- Hide selected Grok controls and manage post-action buttons.
- Browse Boolean feature switches and back up or restore module settings.
Check X compatibility before installing or updating
Compatibility is tied to the X app build, not just the Android version. The Re:X GitHub releases page listed version 1.6.3, released October 6, 2026, with compatibility expectations through X 12.31.0-prod.01 and 12.32.0-beta.01 when inspected on October 7, 2026. These are dated release details, not a promise that later X builds will work.

Before changing either app, compare the X version on your device with the compatibility information and release notes on the Re:X GitHub releases page. The 1.6.3 notes add an option to convert downloaded GIFs to .gif; 1.6.2 notes mention fixes involving update checks, media filenames, and dynamic colors on Android 12 and 13. That history is a useful reminder that a feature or fix may depend on the exact versions involved.
What the installation involves
The guide’s setup sequence assumes that you already know how to root and manage an Android device. Its steps are not universal instructions: rooting methods and LSPosed setup can differ by device and Android version.

- Root the Android device using a route supported for that device.
- Install and set up LSPosed.
- Install Re:X from its GitHub releases page.
- In LSPosed, enable Re:X for the X app.
- Restart the device, then check the module’s settings and the X features you intended to change.
If your device is not rooted or LSPosed is not configured, this is not a plug-and-play customization route. Do not assume the sequence applies unchanged to every phone.

The DroidWin guide author, Sadique Hassan, warns that an account could be temporarily or permanently banned in some cases. That is the guide author’s warning, not an independently established estimate of enforcement likelihood or a statement of official X policy. The available information does not quantify the risk, so anyone unwilling to accept it should avoid modifying the app with this module.

There is also a practical compatibility risk: X updates can change app behavior, and the module’s release history includes build-specific fixes. If X or Re:X updates, recheck the release notes before assuming the setup will continue to work. The guide does not establish that every customization remains available or stable across builds.

- Potentially suitable: Android users who already have root and LSPosed, want specific controls from the feature list, and are comfortable checking app-version compatibility and troubleshooting changes.
- Probably unsuitable: users who want ordinary settings-only customization, rely on an unrooted phone, need predictable behavior after every X update, or are not comfortable with the guide’s account-risk warning.
A sensible decision starts with four checks: whether your installed X build is listed as compatible, whether you can manage root and LSPosed, whether Re:X actually includes the options you want, and whether you accept the possibility of breakage and the warning described above.
