Retro Remake appears to be developing an FPGA-based SNES device, but it has not announced a finished product or provided specifications. The strongest indication that it may appeal to fans outside the US is a reported statement from co-founder Taki Udon: “Don’t worry, we have all regions covered.” That signals attention to regional console designs, not confirmed sales, shipping, or game compatibility in every region.

What Retro Remake has teased

Time Extension reported on October 8, 2026, that Retro Remake co-founder Taki Udon shared an image of an SNES reset button with the words, “It’s time to run it back.” The report associates the teaser with the codename “SSNT/SuperFPGA” and describes it as a likely SNES FPGA console. Those details point to a project in development, rather than a fully announced system.

What “all regions covered” tells us—and what it doesn’t

In the reported exchange, a reader asked that the device not resemble the American SNES. Udon then posted an image of a PAL/Japanese SNES reset button and replied, “Don’t worry, we have all regions covered.” That is evidence of an intention to account for multiple regional designs. It does not confirm which shells or versions will be offered, where the system will be sold, whether it will support games from different regions, or what shipping will be available.

Product details that are still unconfirmed

The teaser and regional-design comment do not establish the final product name or any specifications. The reporting also does not give a price, preorder date, launch date, retailer, or confirmed country-by-country availability. Cartridge support, compatibility, and video outputs remain open questions too.

Sipeed Tang Console 138K FPGA Development Board, HDMI Output, Dual PMOD, RPi 5 PCIe HAT Compatible, with USB 3.0 Support (138K Retro Premium)
  • DUAL FPGA OPTIONS: 60K or 138K LUT Gowin FPGA, supports retro game cores such as NES, SNES, GB, GBC, GBA, MD and Amiga.
  • Mini and quiet: only 65 x 56 mm (half size of MiSTer), 5W power consumption, fanless operation for silent use.
  • Versatile connections: HDMI output, 2 x USB 3.0 for controller, 2 x USB 2.0 Type-C, TF card slot, 3.5 mm audio.
  • 138K WITH RISC-V: 138K version integrates 800MHz RISC-V AE350 hardcore, 1GB DDR3, supports more game cores and applications.
  • Developer friendly: 2 x 40 pin GPIO + 2 x PMOD, PCIe Gen3 x1, RGB LCD connection, optional battery, supports own FPGA designs.

Those are the details to look for in an official product announcement. For enthusiasts comparing FPGA consoles, the most useful evidence will be concrete information about regional designs, physical cartridge support and compatibility, video outputs, regional pricing and availability, and launch timing.

Don’t confuse it with Retro Remake’s SuperStation One

Retro Remake already offers a separate product called the SuperStation One. Its product page describes a MiSTer FPGA-compatible system with HDMI, VGA, DIN10, composite, and component video output options. Those are SuperStation One specifications; they have not been established for the teased SNES device and should not be carried over to it.

How it fits alongside existing FPGA SNES hardware

Analogue’s Super Nt is an existing FPGA console documented as supporting SNES and Super Famicom cartridges. It provides a reference point for the kind of system enthusiasts may have in mind, but the available product material is older and does not establish its current price, stock, or availability. There is not enough confirmed information about Retro Remake’s teaser to make a meaningful hardware comparison or declare one system better.
