Resident Evil Requiem Standard contains the complete game. Deluxe adds cosmetic items, filters, a sound pack and bonus files. Steelbook Deluxe adds premium physical packaging, while the Collector’s Edition is a region-specific bundle that requires careful verification. The game launches on February 27, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC.

Resident Evil Requiem editions at a glance

All four versions are built around the same Resident Evil Requiem campaign. The meaningful differences are downloadable cosmetic extras, archive-style bonus material and, for physical buyers, collector packaging. None of the listed editions adds a separate story expansion.

Edition What it includes Best suited to
Standard The full Resident Evil Requiem game Players who want the campaign without cosmetic DLC
Deluxe The full game, five costumes, four weapon skins, two charms, two screen filters, a custom sound pack and additional in-game files, including “Letters from 1998” in Capcom’s Japanese listing Players who want the complete game plus cosmetic and archive-style extras
Steelbook Deluxe Everything in Deluxe, plus a steelbook case and limited-edition lenticular card Physical collectors who value premium packaging
Collector’s Edition A regional collector bundle; Capcom’s Japanese store lists PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 selections, while secondary descriptions of the Japan-only package mention an acrylic stand and collector’s box Collectors prepared to verify regional stock or import terms

What comes with Resident Evil Requiem Standard Edition?

Standard is the straightforward purchase: it includes the full Resident Evil Requiem game and no listed cosmetic-DLC bundle. It is the correct choice if your priority is playing the campaign rather than collecting alternate appearances, weapon finishes, filters or bonus documents.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Standard should not be confused with a “trial” or reduced-content release. Capcom’s edition information describes it as the full game. Platform versions can have different technical features, but the underlying game content is described as the same across platforms in Capcom’s support FAQ.

Resident Evil Requiem Amazon Exclusive Edition - PlayStation 5
  • Amazon Exclusive - 2 sided poster included in every game!
  • Grace Ashcroft, an FBI intelligence analyst who is introverted and easily scared, representing a new type of character for the Resident Evil series. Grace will experience horror from the same perspective as the player as she learns to overcome her fears throughout the course of the story.
  • For the first time ever in Resident Evil history, players will be able to freely switch between both first- and third-person perspectives throughout the game.
  • An Anniversary to Remember: With March 2026 marking the Resident Evil series’ 30-year anniversary, Resident Evil Requiem marks its own milestone in the franchise.
  • Pre-orders for Resident Evil Requiem are now open, with the bonus of Grace’s costume: Apocalypse. Please note that the picture weapon does not come with the costume, but it can be obtained in-game.

Does Standard include the Apocalypse costume?

Not as a built-in edition item. “Apocalypse,” a costume for Grace, is identified as a preorder bonus in Capcom’s Japanese listing and is delivered as a download code. A Standard preorder can include it only when the specific retailer or storefront offer says that the bonus applies. Buying Standard after the preorder promotion, or buying a listing that does not mention the code, should not be assumed to grant the costume.

What comes with Resident Evil Requiem Deluxe Edition?

Deluxe contains the complete game and the following extras:

  • Five costumes for the game’s characters.
  • Four weapon skins.
  • Two charms.
  • Two screen filters that alter the game’s presentation.
  • A custom sound pack.
  • Additional in-game files. Capcom’s Japanese listing specifically names “Letters from 1998” among these files.

These additions are primarily customization and supplemental reading or archive material. The published Deluxe description does not identify a new campaign, extra chapter or gameplay expansion. If you are buying Deluxe for content that changes the story, its listed contents do not support that expectation.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Are Deluxe items available separately?

Capcom’s preorder listing says the Apocalypse costume may be sold separately later, but that statement applies to that bonus and does not establish separate availability for every Deluxe item. Treat the Deluxe bundle as the reliable way to obtain the five costumes, four weapon skins, two charms, two filters, sound pack and listed files together.

Is the Steelbook Deluxe Edition worth it?

Steelbook Deluxe includes every Deluxe digital or in-game extra, then adds a steelbook case and a limited-edition lenticular card. Its value therefore depends on whether you want physical memorabilia. It does not provide a separately listed story mission or gameplay system beyond the Deluxe package.

Choose Steelbook Deluxe when

  • You already want the Deluxe cosmetic and archive content.
  • You collect steelbook game cases or display physical editions.
  • The lenticular card is meaningful to you as a limited bonus.

Choose ordinary Deluxe or Standard when

  • You buy digitally, so the case and card have no practical use.
  • You want the extras but do not care about premium packaging.
  • You only want the campaign and would rather avoid paying for cosmetic content.

Check the product page for the exact platform and territory before ordering. A steelbook package can be tied to a particular physical edition, and the presence of the case does not by itself confirm that the included game disc or key matches your console region.

What is the Resident Evil Requiem Collector’s Edition?

Collector’s Edition availability is regional rather than uniform worldwide. Capcom’s Japanese storefront exposes Collector’s Edition selections for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. Secondary descriptions of that Japan-only package identify an acrylic stand and collector’s box, but the exact contents, language, platform format and distribution terms should be confirmed on the listing you intend to buy.

There is no basis to assume that the Japanese bundle is automatically available through Western storefronts. Before importing, verify:

JUEGO Sony PS5 Resident Evil Village Gold Edition
  • JUEGO SONY PS5 RESIDENT EVIL VILLAGE GOLD EDITION
  • Whether the package is officially sold in your country or must be imported.
  • Whether the selected bundle is for PlayStation 5 or Nintendo Switch 2.
  • Whether the game disc or key is compatible with your account region.
  • Whether the listing includes the same physical items described for the Japanese package.
  • Shipping, customs, return and warranty conditions.

For most players, Collector’s Edition is a memorabilia purchase rather than a content upgrade. If you want the campaign and Deluxe bonuses without regional uncertainty, Standard, Deluxe or a clearly identified Steelbook Deluxe listing is easier to evaluate.

Preorder bonus: Grace’s “Apocalypse” costume

The preorder bonus is Grace’s “Apocalypse” costume. Capcom’s Japanese listing describes it as a download code that changes Grace’s appearance only. It is not a gameplay expansion, does not add a new mission and is not described as changing her abilities.

That listing gives the code an expiration date of February 27, 2027. The date and terms are attached to the Japanese offer, so buyers in other regions should read their local retailer’s conditions rather than assume the same deadline. Capcom also says the costume may be sold separately later.

When comparing a preorder, look for the bonus in the retailer’s “included items” or “purchase bonus” wording. A game page that lists only Standard or Deluxe contents has not necessarily promised the Apocalypse code. Keep the code and proof of purchase until redemption succeeds.

Platforms, resolutions and hardware differences

Capcom lists Resident Evil Requiem for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC, with a February 27, 2026 release date. The basic game content is described as the same across platform versions, but hardware capabilities differ.

Platform Published display and feature information
PlayStation 5 2160p support, HDR, adaptive triggers, haptics, Dolby Atmos and Tempest 3D Audio
Xbox Series X 2160p; HDR, ray tracing and spatial-audio support
Xbox Series S 1440p; HDR, ray tracing and spatial-audio support
Nintendo Switch 2 1080p TV resolution and 900p handheld/tabletop resolution, with HDR and amiibo support
PC (Steam and Epic) Adjustable resolution plus mouse-and-keyboard support

These are capability listings, not a promise that every scene runs at the maximum resolution under every performance setting. Your choice should reflect the display, controls and audio hardware you actually use.

Crossplay and cross-saves

Resident Evil Requiem does not support crossplay or cross-saves. A PlayStation 5 purchase therefore cannot share multiplayer sessions or save progress with another platform, and moving from console to PC does not carry your save through an account link.

Nintendo Switch 2 package and download requirements

Capcom’s Japanese Nintendo Switch 2 package uses a key card. The first launch requires an internet connection, and Capcom says to have at least 30 GB of free storage for the game download. Updates may require additional space.

Capcom Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition PlayStation 5 Game
  • Intense horror experience with dark narrative
  • Improved images and refined game mechanics included
  • Players take on the role of Leon S Kennedy
  • Mission to save the president's daughter from danger
  • Challenging environments and strategic combat scenarios await

This requirement matters even though the product is sold physically: the key card is not presented as a complete, immediately playable cartridge containing all game data. Ensure the console can connect online and has enough internal or microSD Express storage before opening the package. The 30 GB figure comes from the Japanese listing; allow extra capacity for updates rather than treating it as a permanent total-install size.

Current price snapshot and how to compare value

A US PlayStation listing showed Standard at $69.99 and Deluxe at $79.99 before a temporary discount on the Deluxe listing. These are time-sensitive storefront prices, not guaranteed permanent MSRPs. Sale windows, taxes, retailer pricing and regional currencies can change, so check the live listing at checkout.

Buying priority Most appropriate edition Why
Campaign only Standard Includes the full game without the listed cosmetic bundle
Cosmetics and bonus files Deluxe Adds five costumes, four weapon skins, two charms, two filters, a sound pack and additional files
Deluxe content plus display piece Steelbook Deluxe Adds the steelbook case and lenticular card
Large physical collection Collector’s Edition Regional bundle for buyers willing to verify stock, platform and import terms

At the cited US listing difference, Deluxe was $10 above Standard before the temporary promotion. Whether that premium is worthwhile is personal: it buys optional presentation and collection content, not a separately listed story expansion.

Which edition should you buy on PS5?

Buy Standard if you want the cleanest value

Select Standard when your goal is simply to play the campaign and you do not expect to use alternate costumes, weapon skins, screen filters, charms, the custom sound pack or bonus files.

Buy Deluxe if you will use the extras

Deluxe is the sensible middle option when the five costumes, four weapon skins, two charms, two filters, sound pack and “Letters from 1998” file justify the price difference. It is also the least complicated way to obtain the complete listed digital package without relying on a preorder code.

Buy Steelbook Deluxe for the physical presentation

Choose Steelbook Deluxe when you want Deluxe content and specifically value the steelbook case and limited-edition lenticular card. Confirm that the listing is for PS5 and your region.

Treat Collector’s Edition as an import decision

Choose Collector’s Edition only after confirming the exact Japanese or other regional bundle, platform, seller and import terms. Its appeal is the physical collection, not an advertised gameplay advantage.

Buying checklist

  1. Confirm the platform: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 or PC.
  2. Identify the edition name exactly: Standard, Deluxe, Steelbook Deluxe or Collector’s Edition.
  3. Read the itemized contents: especially for steelbook, collector and preorder listings.
  4. Check region and account compatibility: this is essential for imported physical packages and download codes.
  5. Verify the current price and sale end date: the cited US PlayStation prices can change.
  6. If buying Switch 2: prepare an internet connection and at least 30 GB of free space, plus room for updates.
  7. Do not expect cross-save: choose the platform on which you intend to keep your progress.

Bottom line

Standard is the complete game at the lowest edition tier. Deluxe is the best all-round upgrade for players who want cosmetic customization and bonus files. Steelbook Deluxe earns its premium through physical presentation, while Collector’s Edition is a region-specific memorabilia bundle that demands the most verification. The Apocalypse costume is a separate preorder incentive delivered by code, not a guaranteed part of Standard or Deluxe after the offer ends.
