You can usually retrieve a Renault or Dacia radio code for free from the vehicle’s handbook or the manufacturer’s app. For Renault UK, the My Renault app has a free reveal option; Dacia Ireland directs owners to My Dacia. If neither route works, the next step depends on your country and whether the installed radio is the original unit.
Start with the handbook or service book
Before setting up an account, check the front and rear covers of your vehicle handbook. Renault UK says the radio code is printed there, and Dacia says it may be in the handbook or service book. Look for a radio-code card or entry. The code is used to reactivate the radio system if it has lost power, according to the Renault UK Shop.
Get a Renault radio code free through My Renault
Renault UK lists the app as a free way to reveal the code. Sign in to My Renault, select the vehicle, and follow this path:
- Open Vehicle details.
- Scroll to Radio Code.
- Select Reveal Radio Code.
These labels and instructions are from Renault UK; app screens and availability may vary by market. If your vehicle is not listed, Renault says you can add it using its VIN. The VIN has 17 characters and can be found on the vehicle registration document or at the base of the windscreen. See Renault UK’s My Renault vehicle setup guidance.

Find a Dacia radio code free through My Dacia
Dacia Ireland says owners can access the code in the My Dacia app. After signing in, go to My Vehicle > Vehicle information, then scroll down to the code. If you do not have an account, download the app, create an account, and add your vehicle first. Dacia’s FAQ says the code is accessible through the app on a smartphone or tablet. These instructions come from Dacia Ireland, so app labels and eligibility may differ elsewhere. See the Dacia Ireland FAQ.
What to do if the code is missing or does not work
Renault UK: use the official request route
If the handbook and app do not provide the code, Renault UK lists a code-request option through its shop. The request form asks for the vehicle registration or VIN and proof of ownership. Renault UK’s FAQ currently lists the request at £10; this is a UK-specific price and may change, so confirm the current terms before submitting. See the Renault UK FAQ and Renault UK Shop.

Dacia: check whether the radio has been changed
If a Dacia code does not work, Dacia says the radio or media unit may have been replaced. Contact a local dealer to check whether the installed unit matches the vehicle’s code. A code associated with the vehicle may not unlock a different, replacement unit. Dacia Ireland gives this advice in its FAQ.

For multimedia or My Dacia app support in the UK, Dacia directs customers to its multimedia support line and says to choose option 3. Have the multimedia software version ready. The support page does not establish that this route applies outside the UK; check Dacia UK’s contact page for current details.

Protect your vehicle information
Enter your VIN only in an official manufacturer account or request form when needed. Do not post it publicly. The official routes described here do not require removing the radio, and the cited manufacturer sources do not verify third-party online code generators as legitimate or safe.
