To reinstall Netflix on a Roku, remove its channel, restart the Roku, then add Netflix again from the Roku store. Roku and Netflix describe this as removing and re-adding the app; the steps use the Roku remote and menus.
Remove Netflix from your Roku
- From the Roku Home screen, highlight Netflix.
- Press the Star button on your Roku remote.
- Select Remove app or Remove channel, then confirm. The wording depends on your Roku interface. Netflix documents removing the channel through the Star-button menu; Roku’s instructions use Remove channel. Netflix’s troubleshooting instructions and Roku’s app troubleshooting guide describe this process.
Restart the Roku
Restart before adding Netflix again. On a Roku player, go to Settings > System > System restart. On a Roku TV, use Settings > System > Power > System restart. If you cannot use the menu, unplug the Roku for a few seconds, then reconnect it. These are Roku’s documented restart options. Roku Support
Add Netflix again
Open the Roku Streaming Store or Channel Store, search for Netflix, and choose Add app or Add channel. Menu labels and available shortcuts vary by model and interface, so use the route shown on your Roku.
From the Roku store
On many Roku interfaces, open Streaming Store or Channel Store, find Netflix, and select the option to add it. Netflix’s setup page gives the path Channel Store > Movies & TV > Netflix > Add Channel. Netflix’s Roku setup instructions
