Which matters most depends on your priorities—and the exact regional model and live offer.
India price difference: a snapshot, not a guaranteed deal
91mobiles listed the Redmi Turbo 5 at ₹41,999 on Amazon and the Motorola Edge 70 Pro 5G at ₹39,999 on Flipkart when accessed in 2026, making the listed Motorola price ₹2,000 lower. Because the listings are from different sellers, this is not a controlled street-price comparison. 91mobiles’ comparison page provides the listing figures; Motorola India’s store search result also showed ₹39,999 against an MRP of ₹51,999 for 8GB/256GB and 12GB/256GB configurations. Prices, offers, stock, and configuration can change, so check the live listing, seller, warranty, and included accessories before buying.
The comparison page reports launch dates of June 19, 2026, for the Redmi and April 22, 2026, for the Motorola. Motorola has announced a multi-region rollout, but exact launch dates and availability can vary by country. Confirm the model sold in your market rather than assuming these dates or specifications apply everywhere. 91mobiles’ listing and Motorola’s announcement provide the cited launch context.

Which phone has the better battery?
On the reported capacity figures, the Redmi Turbo 5 has the larger battery: 7540mAh versus Motorola’s 6500mAh typical capacity. Motorola also gives a 6300mAh rated capacity, a separate measurement from the typical figure. The larger Redmi capacity suggests more battery headroom, but capacity alone does not establish how long either phone lasts: display settings, radio signal, software, workload, and testing conditions all affect endurance. No independent, directly comparable battery test is established by these specifications.

The Redmi’s reported wired charging rating is 100W, compared with 90W for the Edge 70 Pro. Those peak ratings do not by themselves tell you how long a full charge takes, and the evidence does not establish a like-for-like charging test.

Motorola says its 90W TurboPower charger or higher is required for maximum wired charging and is sold separately. The 15W wireless charging rate also requires a separately sold Motorola wireless charger. Check local plug compatibility and retail availability, and include accessory cost when comparing the total purchase. These requirements are stated in Motorola’s announcement.
Camera choice: zoom versatility or a simpler reported setup?
The clearest documented hardware distinction is the Motorola’s 3.5x optical periscope telephoto camera, which provides a dedicated zoom lens. Motorola describes four 50MP cameras, including the periscope, an ultrawide, and a 50MP selfie camera. The Redmi setup reported by 91mobiles is a 50MP main plus 8MP ultrawide rear pair, with a 20MP selfie camera. On those reported configurations, Motorola offers more camera types and a higher-resolution front camera; megapixel counts alone do not establish image quality.

Because Redmi’s camera specifications here are secondary-source figures, confirm the exact regional model and camera configuration with Xiaomi or a current local listing before treating them as definitive.
Display, performance and software support
Display
Motorola’s official UK specifications describe a larger 6.8-inch display with up to 144Hz refresh rate, 2772 × 1272 resolution, and 5200-nit peak brightness. The Redmi figures reported by 91mobiles are a 6.59-inch AMOLED panel at 120Hz. The Motorola’s higher stated refresh rate and peak brightness are specifications, not proof of a better viewing experience in every setting; peak brightness is not the same as sustained brightness in ordinary use.

The phones use related Dimensity 8500-series processors: 8500 Ultra in the Redmi listing and 8500 Extreme in Motorola’s support specifications. 91mobiles reports AnTuTu scores of 2,135,669 for Redmi and 2,194,258 for Motorola, plus Wild Life Extreme scores of 4,175 and 4,385 respectively. These are publisher-reported figures, and no testing protocol or independent corroboration is established here. Treat the small gaps as indicative at most, not as proof of a meaningful difference in everyday speed, gaming stability, or heat.
Updates
Motorola’s UK support page states up to three years of OS upgrades and security patches for the Edge 70 Pro. The cited Redmi comparison reports Android 16 with HyperOS but does not establish an update-duration commitment. That does not prove Redmi will receive no updates; it means the available figures do not support a direct update-policy comparison. Check the manufacturer’s regional support terms for the Redmi variant you would buy.
Which should you choose?
- Consider the Redmi Turbo 5 if the reported 7540mAh battery and 100W wired charging are your priorities, and you verify its regional specifications, seller, warranty, and current price.
- Consider the Motorola Edge 70 Pro 5G if you value the officially stated 144Hz display, a 3.5x optical periscope camera, wireless charging support, and an explicit up-to-three-year OS and security update commitment.
- Compare the total cost before deciding: the cited India listings differ by seller, and Motorola’s fastest wired and wireless charging require separate chargers.

As of the 2026 listing snapshot, Motorola is nominally cheaper, while Redmi leads on reported battery capacity and wired charging wattage.
