The Redmi Note 15 Pro vs POCO M8 comparison depends first on which Redmi you mean: Xiaomi sells separate 4G and 5G versions, while the POCO in the official product materials is the POCO M8 5G. The Redmi 5G model has the larger, higher-resolution display and a 200MP main camera; the POCO has a 50MP dual-camera system and a lower listed battery capacity. A fair current price difference cannot be established from the available figures: POCO’s Japanese launch price is dated, and there is no matching current Redmi price for the same market and configuration.

What the specification differences mean
Choose between Redmi 4G and Redmi 5G first
The 4G Redmi is not simply the 5G model without 5G. It lists a different processor, a 6.77-inch Full HD+ display rather than the 5G model’s 6.83-inch 1.5K panel, a 32MP rather than 20MP front camera, and a slightly lower typical battery capacity. The 4G version does not support 5G. For the 5G Redmi, Xiaomi lists 4K video; the cited 4G specification entry does not establish that capability.
Display and camera hardware
The REDMI Note 15 Pro 5G has the largest and highest-resolution screen in this comparison. Both Redmi variants list a 200MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. POCO lists a 50MP AI dual-camera system for the M8 5G. Megapixel counts alone do not establish which phone takes better photos; the cited product specifications do not provide a comparable independent camera test.

Battery capacity and charging
All three models list 45W charging. The Redmi variants have larger stated typical battery capacities than the POCO M8 5G, but capacity figures alone do not establish real-world battery life. The Global Redmi package listings include a charger or adapter; POCO advises buyers to ask the local seller whether a power adapter is in the box. Verify the contents for your region before purchasing a separate charger.
Water and dust protection
The POCO product page describes an IP66 rating based on controlled conditions, and Xiaomi lists IP65 for the Redmi 4G. These ratings do not make either phone safe to deliberately immerse. POCO says resistance may deteriorate and its warranty excludes damage from deliberate immersion. The cited Redmi 5G specification extract does not establish an IP rating, so do not assume it matches either other model.

Price difference: what can be compared
Xiaomi Japan’s release dated January 8, 2026 gives the POCO M8 5G a Japanese suggested launch price of ¥36,980 including tax. It names Amazon, Xiaomi’s official site and Xiaomi’s official Rakuten store as Japanese sales channels. This is a dated Japanese launch price, not a current universal price or proof of what the phone costs today.
No current Redmi Note 15 Pro price for the same market and a matching memory and storage configuration is established here. As a result, there is no supported like-for-like price gap to calculate. For a useful local comparison, check both phones’ current unlocked prices in the same country and on the same date, match memory and storage, and apply tax and promotions consistently. Which model should you consider?
- Consider the REDMI Note 15 Pro 5G if you want the Redmi’s listed 5G support, 1.5K display, 200MP OIS main camera and larger stated typical battery capacity than the POCO M8 5G.
- Consider the REDMI Note 15 Pro (4G) if the specific 4G model suits your network needs; do not treat its specifications or connectivity as interchangeable with the 5G variant.
- Consider the POCO M8 5G if its 5G network support, Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 platform and listed IP66 rating fit your priorities. Its listed battery capacity is lower than either Redmi’s.
