For the likely 5G-to-5G comparison, the TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G advertises a faster 144 Hz screen, while Xiaomi’s REDMI Note 15 Pro 5G specifies a higher-resolution 1.5K display and a 200 MP OIS main camera. Both list 45 W wired charging and batteries close to 6,500 mAh. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results. First check the model suffix: Xiaomi publishes separate specifications for the REDMI Note 15 Pro and REDMI Note 15 Pro 5G.
Which Redmi Note 15 Pro is being compared?
This comparison uses the REDMI Note 15 Pro 5G, because TECNO’s model is the POVA 8 Pro 5G. Xiaomi also publishes a separate product page for the REDMI Note 15 Pro without the 5G suffix, and its specifications differ. Don’t assume a retailer listing with the shorter name has the 5G model; check the full name and specifications before comparing prices or buying.
The non-5G-suffixed Xiaomi page lists a 6.77-inch, 2392 × 1080 display, 120 Hz refresh rate, 200 MP OIS main camera, 6,500 mAh battery and IP65 rating. The 5G model’s page lists a 6.83-inch, 2772 × 1280 display, 120 Hz refresh rate, 200 MP OIS main camera and 6,580 mAh battery. Xiaomi lists multiple IP ratings for the 5G version. Xiaomi’s REDMI Note 15 Pro specifications and REDMI Note 15 Pro 5G specifications are the relevant references.

See the Xiaomi specification page and TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G specification page. Xiaomi says network bands and eSIM availability vary by region and carrier. Availability and configuration can vary by market, so check the local manufacturer page and the exact retail model.
What the specification differences mean
Refresh rate and display resolution
TECNO lists a maximum refresh rate of 144 Hz, compared with 120 Hz for the Redmi. A higher listed refresh rate may appeal if smooth scrolling or supported games are priorities, but the number alone does not show that every app or game will run at that rate. The Redmi’s listed resolution is 2772 × 1280, higher than TECNO’s 2644 × 1208, and Xiaomi describes its panel as 1.5K. Choose based on the display characteristics you value; neither specification alone establishes overall screen quality.

Main cameras
Xiaomi lists a 200 MP OIS main camera; TECNO lists a 50 MP OIS main camera. Both also list an 8 MP ultra-wide camera, while the Redmi’s listed front camera is 20 MP and TECNO’s is 13 MP. Megapixel counts describe image resolution, not how good photos look. The specifications do not establish which phone takes better pictures.
Battery, charging and weight
The Redmi lists a typical battery capacity of 6,580 mAh and TECNO lists 6,500 mAh; both list 45 W charging. Those figures are close on paper, but they do not establish real-world battery life or how long charging takes in everyday use. TECNO’s product page also includes battery-life and battery-cycle figures identified as the company’s laboratory results under simulated conditions, rather than independent test results. TECNO’s POVA 8 Pro 5G product page provides that context.

TECNO lists the phone at 189 g and Xiaomi lists the Redmi at 210 g. If carrying weight matters, that published difference may be useful; actual feel also depends on the phone’s shape and case.
Chipsets and software
The spec pages list MediaTek Dimensity 7400 variants for both phones, each with a maximum listed clock speed of up to 2.6 GHz. The names are not identical, and the listed clock speed does not prove equal performance. The pages identify Xiaomi HyperOS 2 for the Redmi and HiOS 16 based on Android 16 for the POVA. These listings do not establish how long either model will receive software or security updates.

Price difference: what the available Indian listings show
A 91mobiles comparison page displayed ₹31,999 at Amazon for its Xiaomi entry and ₹49,999 at Flipkart for its TECNO entry. These are third-party page-reported Indian merchant prices, not official or verified current prices, and the page does not establish a durable price difference. Its Xiaomi entry also does not resolve the model-suffix ambiguity. Check the live listings for the full model name, seller, RAM and storage configuration, taxes, stock and date before treating the figures as a like-for-like comparison. How to choose between them
- Consider the POVA 8 Pro 5G if its listed 144 Hz refresh rate or lower stated weight is more important to you.
- Consider the REDMI Note 15 Pro 5G if its higher listed display resolution, 200 MP OIS main camera or 20 MP front camera better matches your priorities.
- For either phone, compare the local price, warranty, supported network bands and exact RAM/storage configuration. Xiaomi specifically notes regional and carrier variation for network bands and eSIM.
Neither the specification pages nor the displayed merchant prices establish a universal winner. Make the decision using the exact local model and price, and treat the listed hardware figures as specifications rather than proof of real-world superiority.
