The India-market Redmi Note 15 5G and realme 16 5G differ most clearly on paper in battery capacity, charging, and rear-camera hardware. realme lists a larger battery and faster charging; Redmi lists optical image stabilization on its 108MP main camera and a separate ultra-wide camera. A current price difference for matching configurations is not established here, so compare the same RAM and storage tier at live India retailers before deciding.

What is the price difference?
A reliable numeric gap cannot be given without current prices for the same configuration and comparable purchase conditions. Both phones have an 8GB+128GB option and an 8GB+256GB option; realme also lists a 12GB+256GB option. Check the same RAM and storage tier, seller, date, and offer conditions in India. A bank discount or exchange offer can change the amount payable, so distinguish the listed price from a conditional deal.

Which phone has the better battery and charging?
On stated capacity and charging rate, realme has the advantage: its India specifications list a 7000mAh typical battery and 60W charging, compared with Xiaomi India’s 5520mAh typical battery and 45W charging for Redmi. Those figures make realme the stronger specification-based candidate if capacity and charging speed are priorities.
Capacity and charging wattage do not establish actual screen-on time or time to recharge. Usage, network conditions, screen settings, software, and charging conditions affect results; no independent, matched endurance or charging test is established here.

How do the displays compare?
Redmi offers the larger listed panel at 6.77 inches, versus 6.57 inches on realme. Both are AMOLED and list refresh rates up to 120Hz. Xiaomi advertises 3200 nits peak brightness and realme advertises 4200 nits, but the figures are manufacturer claims; without the same measurement method and conditions, they are not a dependable direct brightness ranking.
What do the camera specifications tell you?
Redmi’s listed rear setup includes a 108MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. realme lists a 50MP rear camera and a 50MP front camera. Redmi’s published rear-camera specification offers a stabilized main-camera option and a dedicated ultra-wide lens; realme’s listed front-camera resolution may matter to buyers who prioritize selfies or video calls.

Megapixel counts and camera features alone do not show which phone takes better photos or video. No independent camera comparison is established here, so look for sample images and comparable tests if image quality is decisive.
Are the chipsets or durability ratings a clear win?
Performance
Xiaomi lists a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, while realme lists a MediaTek Dimensity 6400 Turbo. Chipset names alone do not establish which phone is faster in everyday use, gaming, or sustained workloads; comparable benchmark or real-world test results are not established here.

Resistance ratings
Xiaomi India lists IP66 for Redmi, while realme advertises IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K for realme 16. These are manufacturer-published ratings, not a promise that a phone is indestructible. Water or dust resistance can diminish with wear, and a rating should not be read as warranty coverage for liquid damage; check the exact model’s warranty terms before relying on it.
Software, storage, and what comes in the box
Software information is region-specific. Xiaomi’s India page lists HyperOS 3 and four years of OS updates plus six years of security patches; Xiaomi’s global product page lists HyperOS 2, so do not apply the global software listing to the India retail variant. Xiaomi also notes that feature availability can vary by region. Confirm the software version and update commitment for the exact SKU you are buying on the India product page or with the seller.

realme lists three India memory options—8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB, and 12GB+256GB—and memory-card support. Xiaomi India lists 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB, with microSD support through a hybrid SIM slot. Check the exact SKU and SIM arrangement: a hybrid slot can require choosing between a second SIM and a memory card.
Both India product sources list a protective case in the box. realme warns that screen protectors with poor light transmission, including colored or dark protectors, may block its hidden light sensor and affect normal use. If you add a protector, choose one that does not interfere with that sensor.
