The Redmi Note 15 5G is the stronger paper choice if you want an AMOLED display and faster charging; the Moto g max 5G is the one to consider if its listed 7,000mAh battery is your priority. In one India retailer snapshot, the Redmi was ₹1,000 more—but that is not a fixed or necessarily like-for-like price gap. Check the exact model, storage tier and current local listings before deciding.
First, check which Redmi Note 15 you mean
“Redmi Note 15” is not specific enough for a fair comparison. Xiaomi’s global Redmi Note 15 5G specifications describe a model with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, a 6.67-inch AMOLED display and a 5,520mAh typical battery. Xiaomi’s India product page describes a regional 5G model with a 6.77-inch curved AMOLED display, HyperOS 3 and a 108MP camera with OIS. These regional pages do not describe identical specifications, so do not combine them as if they were one universal SKU. Xiaomi also says network bands, NFC and box contents can vary by market (Xiaomi Global specifications; Xiaomi India product page).
The comparison below uses Xiaomi’s global Redmi Note 15 5G specification for its Redmi column. The Moto g max 5G figures come from third-party comparison listings: an official Motorola specification page was not identified in the sources cited here. Treat those Moto figures as database listings, not Motorola-confirmed specifications.

These are listed specifications, not results from a shared hands-on test. In particular, megapixel counts do not establish camera quality, and battery capacity alone does not establish real-world endurance. Xiaomi’s India page gives different regional software and camera details, so consult the page for the exact phone sold in your market rather than applying the global column to every Indian SKU.

What the specs mean for your choice
Choose the Redmi for AMOLED and faster listed charging
Xiaomi’s global model has an AMOLED panel, while the Moto comparison entries identify an LCD. That is a meaningful technology difference on paper, but brightness, color accuracy and viewing quality require testing to compare confidently. The Redmi is also listed with 45W charging against the Moto’s 30W. Xiaomi says the global package does not include a power adapter and recommends a 45W adapter that supports PD charging or Xiaomi’s 45W adapter; box contents may differ by region (Xiaomi Global specifications).
Consider the Moto for its larger listed battery
The Moto’s listed 7,000mAh capacity is substantially larger than the global Redmi’s 5,520mAh typical capacity. That makes the Moto worth considering if battery capacity is a deciding factor, but it does not prove that it lasts longer in everyday use: screen, software, network conditions and workload affect endurance, and no comparable independent battery test is established here.

Do not choose by camera resolution or chipset name alone
The Redmi’s global specification lists a higher-resolution main camera and an ultra-wide camera; the Moto entry also lists an ultra-wide. Resolution alone cannot predict image processing, low-light results or video quality. Likewise, the chipset names are not a performance test, so this comparison does not establish which phone is faster for gaming or daily use.
Check software support against the exact regional listing
Xiaomi India says its Redmi Note 15 5G receives four years of OS updates and six years of security patches. That is a claim for Xiaomi’s India product page, not a commitment to assume for every regional Redmi variant (Xiaomi India product page). PhoneArena lists Android 16 and up to two OS updates for the Moto g max 5G; because that is a third-party database entry rather than an official Motorola statement, verify the support terms for the exact Moto model before buying (PhoneArena comparison).

India price difference: ₹1,000 in one listing snapshot
At retrieval, 91mobiles displayed the Redmi Note 15 at ₹28,999 with an Amazon listing and the Moto g max 5G at ₹27,999 with a Flipkart listing—a displayed gap of ₹1,000, with the Redmi higher. These are changing retailer listings surfaced on a comparison page, not official MSRPs or guaranteed current prices. The listing snapshot does not establish that the compared storage tiers are identical. Check the current seller price, RAM and storage configuration, offers and delivery costs before treating the difference as a like-for-like comparison (91mobiles comparison).

How to make a fair buying comparison
- Match the model. Confirm that the Redmi is the 5G variant and check the country-specific product page. Do not use 4G or another regional variant’s figures for the phone you are considering.
- Match the configuration. Compare the same RAM and storage tier where possible; a lower displayed price may reflect a different configuration.
- Check local, current prices. Compare the full checkout price from sellers serving your country, not a historical or cached comparison-page figure.
- Verify Moto details with the seller or manufacturer. The cited Moto specifications are third-party listings, so confirm the exact chipset, battery, protection rating and update policy for the unit on sale.
- Prioritize what specifications can actually tell you. Choose based on the listed display type, charging rate and battery capacity, but seek independent tests for endurance, camera output and performance if those are decisive.
