The Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G has the larger listed battery and faster wired charging in Xiaomi’s India specifications: 9000mAh and 67W, versus 5500mAh and 45W for the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G. The phones also differ in processor, display shape, camera configuration and software version. These figures vary by market, and no verified like-for-like price difference is available here; compare local prices for the same storage tier before choosing.
First, make sure you are comparing the right phones
This comparison is between the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G and the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G. The non-5G Redmi Note 14 Pro is a separate model, so its specifications should not be substituted for the 5G phone’s.

Where the listed hardware differs
Battery and charging: a substantial listed capacity gap
For India, Xiaomi lists a 9000mAh typical battery and 67W charging for the Note 17 Pro 5G, compared with 5500mAh typical and 45W for the Note 14 Pro 5G. Those are capacity and charging specifications, not measured battery endurance or a timed charging comparison. Actual runtime depends on use and conditions.
The capacities are not consistent across all regional listings. Xiaomi Mexico lists the Note 17 Pro 5G at 8340mAh typical, while Xiaomi Japan lists the Note 14 Pro 5G at 5110mAh typical. Display: flat and larger versus curved
Xiaomi India lists the Note 17 Pro 5G with an approximately 6.83-inch flat AMOLED display and the Note 14 Pro 5G with a 6.67-inch curved AMOLED display. Both listings specify refresh rates up to 120Hz. The Note 17 Pro page also lists 3500-nit peak brightness. The larger size and flat-versus-curved construction are clear specification differences, but they do not establish which screen a particular buyer will prefer.
Processor: different platforms, no verified head-to-head test
The India models use different 4nm chipsets: MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Ultra in the Note 14 Pro 5G and Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 in the Note 17 Pro 5G. The specifications identify the platforms but do not provide a comparable benchmark or controlled real-world test, so they do not establish which phone is faster in use.
Cameras: different listed configurations, not a quality verdict
The Note 14 Pro 5G lists three rear cameras, including a 2MP macro camera; the Note 17 Pro 5G lists a 50MP OIS main camera and an 8MP ultrawide. Their listed front cameras are 20MP and 16MP, respectively. Megapixel counts and camera lists alone do not establish photo or video quality. Storage tiers and software
The India Note 14 Pro 5G listing offers 8GB RAM with either 128GB or 256GB storage. The Note 17 Pro 5G India page lists up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, with different storage standards by capacity: UFS 2.2 for 128GB and UFS 3.1 for 256GB. Compare matching storage tiers when checking prices.
The same India pages list Android 14 with HyperOS for the Note 14 Pro 5G and Android 16 with Xiaomi HyperOS 3 for the Note 17 Pro 5G. These are the versions shown on those product pages, not a guarantee of the software installed on every unit or of future update duration.
What is the price difference?
A reliable price gap cannot be stated without a country, retailer, storage configuration and date. The official pages used for these specifications do not provide a verified, like-for-like price comparison. Prices can change, and comparing different storage tiers or markets would not produce a meaningful difference.

For a useful comparison, check both phones at the same retailer and in the same country, match RAM and storage as closely as the listings allow, and record the price on the same day. If one phone is imported, include any additional costs and account for differences in warranty and included charger before treating its price as comparable.

Regional specification pages differ in battery figures, network details and SIM information. Xiaomi Mexico also cautions that connectivity and supported bands can vary with regional availability and local operator support. Before buying an imported or cross-market unit, check:

- 5G band compatibility with your carrier and local network support.
- Warranty coverage in your country and whether the package includes the expected charger and accessories.
- The current local software listing and any available update information.
Box contents may vary by sales region, so do not assume that an India package list applies to a unit sold elsewhere. Xiaomi’s Oman Note 17 Pro 5G specifications are another regional listing; use the page for the market of the exact device you are considering.

Which phone should you choose?
Choose based on the India-listed battery and charging specifications
If you are comparing India-market versions and a larger stated battery and higher charging wattage are priorities, the Note 17 Pro 5G has the stronger listed figures. They are not a substitute for an independent battery-life or charging-time test.
Choose based on display shape, storage or camera layout
The Note 14 Pro 5G has a curved display, a listed 2MP macro rear camera, and an India-listed 8GB/128GB option. The Note 17 Pro 5G has a larger flat display and, on its India page, UFS 3.1 storage in the 256GB configuration. Decide which of these details matters to you rather than treating camera count or megapixels as a quality score.
Let the local deal and compatibility settle close calls
When neither phone’s listed differences match a strong preference, compare the exact local SKU and current same-market price, then verify carrier bands, warranty and package contents. There is no evidence here for a universal overall winner or a single worldwide price advantage.
