The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G is the more charging-focused, lower-tier option; the Galaxy S25 Ultra is a larger-screen flagship with more camera focal lengths and a published seven-year software-support commitment. Both list a 200MP main camera, but that shared headline number does not make them equivalent. Choose by local price, zoom needs, display size, charging preference and how long you want updates—not megapixels alone.
At a glance: Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G vs Galaxy S25 Ultra
The specifications below are drawn from Xiaomi’s Sri Lanka product page and Samsung’s global launch information. Regional configurations and included accessories can differ, so check the exact local model before buying.
| Specification | Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G | Galaxy S25 Ultra |
|---|---|---|
| Processor | Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 | Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy |
| Display | 6.67-inch AMOLED; 2712 × 1220; up to 120Hz | 6.9-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X; adaptive 1–120Hz. Samsung gives 6.8 inches when accounting for rounded corners. |
| Rear cameras | 200MP OIS main, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro | 200MP OIS main, 50MP ultrawide, 50MP 5x optical telephoto, 10MP 3x optical telephoto |
| Typical battery capacity | 5110mAh | 5000mAh |
| Wired charging | 120W; Xiaomi’s Sri Lanka page says a 120W charger is included | 45W; Samsung says around 65% in about 30 minutes with a 45W adapter and cable |
| Durability listed | Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and IP68-rated protection on Xiaomi’s Sri Lanka model | IP68 |
| Memory and storage listed | 8GB/256GB, 12GB/256GB, or 12GB/512GB on Xiaomi’s Sri Lanka page | 12GB with 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB in Samsung’s launch announcement; options vary by market |
| Published software commitment | A comparable duration was not established in the cited Xiaomi specification | Seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates from global launch, according to Samsung |
These are specification comparisons, not results from controlled camera, battery-endurance or performance tests. The different processors indicate different product tiers, but do not by themselves establish how much faster one phone will feel in a particular task.

Choose the Redmi if fast wired charging matters most
Xiaomi lists 120W charging and a 5110mAh typical battery for the Sri Lanka model. Its stated charging power is higher than Samsung’s 45W support, and Xiaomi’s page says the 120W charger is in the box for that regional product. Charging times in everyday use depend on conditions; the quoted wattage alone does not establish a full-charge time.

Choose the Galaxy if you want more camera reach
Both phones list a 200MP main camera with optical image stabilization. The Galaxy adds a 50MP ultrawide and separate 3x and 5x optical telephoto cameras, while the Redmi’s cited specification lists an 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro beside its main camera. That gives the Galaxy more dedicated focal-length options, especially for distant subjects. These specifications do not prove which phone produces better photos in a given scene.
Choose by preferred screen size and resolution
The Galaxy’s listed 6.9-inch QHD+ panel is larger and has a higher published resolution than the Redmi’s 6.67-inch 2712 × 1220 display. Both support refresh rates up to 120Hz, though Samsung specifies an adaptive 1–120Hz range. Screen size and resolution are measurable differences; they do not alone determine perceived color, brightness or overall display quality.

Consider update horizon and long-term ownership
Samsung commits to seven generations of operating-system upgrades and seven years of security updates starting from the Galaxy S25 series’ global launch. A directly comparable support-duration commitment was not established for the cited Redmi page. If keeping a phone for years is important, check Xiaomi’s support policy for the specific market and model before treating the two as equivalent.
What is the price difference?
There is no reliable universal price gap to quote without matching country, storage configuration, seller and date. Samsung announced a U.S. Galaxy S25 Ultra starting price of $1,299.99 on January 22, 2025; its U.S. product page accessed on October 7, 2026 displayed a starting price of $1,299.99 before trade-in. Those are U.S. figures, and taxes, promotions and street prices may differ. The cited Xiaomi specification page does not establish a current price applicable across markets.

For a fair comparison, check the price of each phone in your country at the same time and match storage as closely as possible. Compare final prices on the same basis—for example, both before tax and without trade-in credit—and account for whether a compatible charger is included in the local box.

Check these details before buying locally
- Exact model and memory: Available RAM and storage configurations vary by market. Confirm the complete model and capacity on the retailer’s listing.
- Network compatibility: Verify the local model’s supported bands against your carrier; the cited specifications do not establish compatibility for every region or network.
- Warranty and support: Confirm local warranty terms and the applicable software-support policy for the exact regional version.
- Charger and box contents: Xiaomi’s Sri Lanka page lists a 120W charger in the box, while Samsung’s U.S. listing says the charger is not included. Do not assume either bundle applies in another market.
