Which phone has the better display and battery?
Screen size
The Note 17 5G has the larger display at 6.99 inches, compared with 6.67 inches on the Note 14 5G. Both are AMOLED panels with a listed maximum refresh rate of 120Hz. The Note 14 sheet specifies 2400 × 1080 resolution; the Note 17 sheet lists 2396 × 1080. A larger screen can suit video and reading, but the phone is also heavier.
Battery capacity and charging
Xiaomi lists a 7,700mAh typical-capacity battery for the Note 17 5G and 5,110mAh for the Note 14 5G. The stated capacities favor the Note 17, but they do not establish real-world battery life: use patterns and other conditions affect endurance. Both regional specification sheets list 45W charging, so the listed wattage does not distinguish these two versions. Check local box contents and adapter compatibility before buying a charger.
Which phone has the better cameras?
On paper, the Note 14 5G offers more rear-camera options: a 108MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro camera. Xiaomi’s cited Note 17 5G page lists a 50MP main camera and does not list ultrawide or macro modules. For selfies, the listed resolutions are 20MP on the Note 14 and 16MP on the Note 17.

These specifications describe hardware, not comparative photo quality. Megapixel counts alone cannot determine which phone takes better pictures, and the cited specifications do not establish an independent, comparable camera test.
Weight, protection and configurations
Handling
The Note 14 5G is listed at 190g; the Note 17 5G at 225g. The Note 14 is therefore the lighter option in these specifications, while the Note 17 combines the larger screen with the higher listed weight. If pocketability or extended one-handed use matters, consider the dimensions and weight of the exact local version before purchasing.
Dust and water protection
Xiaomi lists IP64 for the Note 14 5G and IP65 for the Note 17 5G. Xiaomi’s ratings are based on specified laboratory conditions, and the manufacturer cautions that water exposure in real use is not covered as normal use. Neither rating means the phone is waterproof; avoid deliberately exposing either device to water.

Memory and storage
The Germany Note 14 sheet lists 6GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB and 12GB/512GB options. Xiaomi Chile lists the Note 17 in 6GB/128GB and 6GB/256GB configurations. Availability can differ by country, so confirm the exact RAM and storage configuration offered by the seller rather than assuming every listed option is sold in your market.

Available India listings provide a dated indication, not a like-for-like current checkout comparison. On 6 October 2026, Gadgets 360 reported a lowest Amazon price of ₹19,999 for the Redmi Note 14 5G in 8GB/128GB. Xiaomi India and 91mobiles listed the Redmi Note 17 5G at ₹27,999; the 91mobiles Amazon listing shown was for 6GB/128GB. The ₹8,000 difference is arithmetic from those 2026 listings, but the RAM configurations differ, and stock, offers and final prices can change.
Check the live listing for the exact configuration, seller, stock and checkout price before deciding. A 91mobiles comparison listing marked the Note 14 out of stock, illustrating why a dated price should not be treated as guaranteed availability.

Which Redmi Note should you choose?
- Choose the Note 17 5G if: the larger screen and higher listed battery capacity are more important to you, and its size and weight suit your use.
- Choose the Note 14 5G if: you value a lighter phone, a listed ultrawide and macro camera, OIS on the main camera, a higher-resolution selfie camera or the higher-memory options on Xiaomi Germany’s sheet.
- Compare local prices before paying: the available India figures use different RAM configurations and are dated listings, not a guaranteed like-for-like deal.
Confirm that the listing is for the intended 5G model and regional version. The unqualified name “Redmi Note 14” can refer to variants with different specifications.
