The Xiaomi Redmi 15 5G is the stronger paper choice for a sharper display, faster charging, higher stated camera resolution and longer explicitly stated update support. The realme C83 5G was ₹1,500 cheaper in 91mobiles’ displayed Amazon price snapshot, and its listed PCMark battery result was longer. Check current prices and matching memory/storage variants before buying.

| Water/dust rating | IP64 | No IP rating found in the reviewed specification lines; that absence does not establish that the phone has no water resistance. |
| Displayed Amazon price in India | ₹21,499 | ₹19,999 |
Specifications are from the phones’ official Xiaomi page and official realme page, except the C83 update-duration figures and displayed prices, which are attributed to 91mobiles’ comparison. Brightness labels use different stated conditions, so the figures are not a direct like-for-like brightness test.
Which phone has the better display?
The Redmi 15 has the clearer specification advantage: its 6.9-inch panel is FHD+ at 2340 × 1080, while the C83’s 6.8-inch panel is HD+ at 1570 × 720. That gives the Redmi more pixels for text, images and video. Both phones list a maximum refresh rate of 144Hz, so the refresh-rate figure alone does not distinguish them.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteBrightness numbers need more care. Xiaomi lists 850 nits peak brightness; realme lists 700 nits typical brightness and 900 nits HBM. Peak, typical and HBM figures describe different measurement conditions and should not be ranked as though they were measured on the same basis.

How do their performance and storage compare?
The Redmi uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6s Gen 3, while the C83 uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300. The processor names alone do not establish which phone will feel faster in everyday use. The Redmi’s listed configurations start at 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, and extend to 8GB and 256GB. The C83 is listed with 4GB or 6GB RAM and 64GB or 128GB storage, so the Redmi has the larger top-end memory and storage option.
91mobiles reports three different benchmark results for the compared phones:

Which phone has better cameras on paper?
The Redmi lists a 50MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera; the C83 lists 13MP rear and 5MP front cameras. That gives the Redmi higher stated camera resolution, but megapixel counts alone cannot show which phone takes better photos. The comparison figures do not establish image quality across lighting conditions or camera modes.

Which phone charges faster, and do they have the same battery capacity?
Both manufacturers list a 7000mAh typical battery capacity. The Redmi supports 33W charging and 18W reverse charging, while the C83 supports charging at up to 15W, so the Redmi has the faster listed wired charging specification. Charging speed in practice can depend on conditions and the compatible charger; the two figures are specifications, not a comparative charging-time test.

Xiaomi states that the Redmi 15 receives two years of OS updates and four years of security updates. The C83 is listed with realme UI 7.0 based on Android 16; the one-year OS and two-year security-update durations come from 91mobiles, not the reviewed realme specifications page. Buyers prioritising update duration should confirm the current regional support terms with realme.

The Redmi has an explicit IP64 rating. The reviewed realme specification lines did not state an IP rating, which is not enough to conclude that the C83 has no water resistance. The Redmi is listed at 217g and 168.48 × 80.45 × 8.40mm; the C83 is about 212g and its listed dimensions appear to be 166.3 × 78.1 × 8.4mm.
What is the price difference in India?
At the snapshot shown by 91mobiles, the Redmi 15 was ₹21,499 on Amazon and the C83 was ₹19,999, a displayed difference of ₹1,500 in the C83’s favour. These are volatile comparison-page observations, not guaranteed current prices. Check the live retailer listings and compare the exact RAM and storage configuration, since a different variant or offer can change the price gap.
Which phone should you choose?
- Choose the Redmi 15 if you want the higher-resolution FHD+ display, faster listed charging, higher stated camera resolution, a larger maximum storage configuration or Xiaomi’s explicitly stated update duration.
- Consider the realme C83 if its current price is lower for the configuration you need, or if you value its longer PCMark battery result as one reported test rather than a guarantee of longer use.
There is no evidence here for declaring one phone the universal winner: the strongest choice depends on whether display detail, charging, storage and stated updates matter more to you than price and the C83’s reported battery-test result.
