If your REDMAGIC 12 Pro+ battery is draining quickly, first check which apps are using power, then reduce display and gaming demands if the drain happens mainly during play. REDMAGIC’s direct support advice is to clear unused apps running in the background. The model-specific settings paths and specifications are not verified here, so menu labels may differ on your software version.
Start with the timing of the drain
Notice whether the battery drops unusually while the phone is idle, during ordinary use, or mainly during gaming. Also note whether the problem began after installing an app or updating the system. These clues help distinguish an app or workload issue from a broader problem without assuming that fast drain automatically means the battery is faulty.
Check for an app using unusually high power
REDMAGIC’s support article recommends: “Clear any unused applications that are running in the background.” Start by closing or clearing apps you no longer need. Then inspect battery usage in your phone’s settings, if available, and look for an app whose activity seems out of proportion to your use.

Address the app indicated by the usage information: update it, limit its background activity, or uninstall it if you do not need it. Google’s battery troubleshooting page describes app-usage diagnostics and settings for Pixel phones; its exact feature names and menu paths are Pixel-specific, not instructions for the REDMAGIC 12 Pro+. If battery drain happens mainly while gaming
REDMAGIC’s general gaming-phone guidance identifies demanding gameplay, extended use, heat, high brightness, and high refresh rates as factors that can increase power use. Those factors can explain heavier drain during play, but they do not establish a battery defect or provide a 12 Pro+ battery-life estimate.
- Lower screen brightness to a comfortable level.
- Use a lower refresh rate if the game does not need the highest setting.
- Try Eco or Balance performance mode for less demanding sessions, if those modes are available on your software version. REDMAGIC’s May 15, 2026 guide recommends these modes as general power-saving advice, not as a model-specific test or guarantee.
- Manage heat by taking breaks and keeping airflow around the phone. A gaming-phone cooler is an optional heat-management accessory; compatibility with the 12 Pro+ has not been confirmed, and a cooler is not a remedy for unexplained drain while idle.

If the drain began after a system update
Google notes that Pixel phones can temporarily use more battery after an update while the system optimizes, and advises seeking help if unusual drain continues after a few days. That is Pixel guidance; REDMAGIC’s reviewed material does not establish a recovery period for the 12 Pro+. When basic checks do not resolve it
If the battery continues to drop unusually after checking app activity and reducing display or gaming demands, contact REDMAGIC Support for advice specific to your device. The official sources available here do not verify a REDMAGIC 12 Pro+ listing, firmware details, replacement parts, or model-specific repair and reset procedures. Do not use another model’s reset or repair instructions as a substitute. If support recommends a factory reset, back up your data first and follow the procedure they confirm for your device.
