For a quick Wild Hearts clip, try the Windows+Alt+R shortcut for Xbox Game Bar; for more control over sources and audio, use OBS Studio. Before recording a full hunt, make a short test and check the picture, sound, and game performance on your own PC. These are general Windows and OBS workflows, not a claim that Wild Hearts capture was tested on a particular system.
Choose a capture method

Neither method requires an external capture card to record a game running directly on your Windows PC. Choose Game Bar for simplicity, or OBS if you need more control over the recording setup.
Tip 1: Try Xbox Game Bar for a quick clip
Xbox Wire’s Game Bar guide describes Windows+G to open the overlay and Windows+Alt+R to start or stop a recording. The shortcut may be useful if the overlay does not appear over a fullscreen game.

That guide was published in 2015, so treat it as a Windows-era reference rather than current Windows 11 documentation. If the shortcut does not work as expected, check the recording options available in your Windows settings; interface names and paths can vary by Windows version. Tip 2: Use OBS when you want configurable capture
Add a Game Capture source
- Open OBS Studio and run the Auto-Configuration Wizard if you want it to account for your recording goal and computer resources.
- Start Wild Hearts, then in OBS add a Game Capture source to a scene.
- Set the source to capture the fullscreen application or select the Wild Hearts window, as applicable.
- Check the OBS preview. If the game image appears, make a short recording and play it back to check the result.
OBS recommends trying Game Capture first for Windows games because it directly captures DirectX or OpenGL games. Its documentation does not establish Wild Hearts-specific compatibility, so use the preview and a sample recording to verify the setup on your machine. If the preview is blank
Confirm that the game is running and that the source is targeting the correct application. If Game Capture still does not work, make a brief test recording, consult OBS’s troubleshooting guidance, and try an appropriate alternative such as Window Capture where it applies. Tip 3: Check audio and performance before a long session
Verify game audio and microphone
If you want commentary as well as game sound, check that the intended game-audio and microphone sources are active in OBS and that their audio meters move. OBS documents per-application audio capture on Windows 10 version 2004 or later and Windows 11; OBS 30.1 and later can include audio with a Game Capture or Window Capture source. The available audio behavior can depend on the application’s output, Windows version, and OBS version, so record and listen to a short sample before starting a full session. On a laptop or PC with integrated and discrete graphics, OBS says Game Capture may fail or perform poorly if OBS uses the integrated GPU while the game uses the discrete GPU. If you see this problem, assign both applications to the high-performance GPU using the controls available for your system. OBS also documents possible conflicts with Windows background recording features and hardware encoding; its advice is version-sensitive and focuses on Windows 10, so do not assume an older settings path applies to every current Windows installation. Keep expectations realistic about frame rate
EA lists these Windows requirements for Wild Hearts:

Steam’s requirement notes associate the minimum tier with 1080p at 30 fps on Lowest and the recommended tier with 1080p at 60 fps on Standard. Those are game requirement notes, not guarantees about recording at those settings or frame rates. Recording also uses system resources, and the result depends on the PC and capture configuration.
