The realme P4 Pro 5G has the higher listed refresh rate, more camera hardware, and a higher-specification processor and storage configuration on paper. Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 17 5G has the larger display, bigger rated battery, and reverse charging. In a 91mobiles India price snapshot, the Redmi was listed at ₹27,999 while the P4 Pro was ₹28,999 and out of stock; prices and stock can change.

Specifications are from the manufacturers’ India pages, except the Redmi processor identification, which is attributed to 91mobiles. Manufacturer-listed capacity, charging wattage, camera resolution, and display refresh rate are not substitutes for independent testing.
Display: bigger screen or faster refresh rate?
The Redmi Note 17 5G has the larger listed diagonal at 6.99 inches, compared with 6.8 inches for the P4 Pro. The realme’s listed maximum refresh rate is higher—144 Hz versus 120 Hz—while the Redmi’s panel is identified by Xiaomi as OLED. A higher refresh-rate specification can support smoother motion when content and settings use it, but it does not by itself establish overall display quality or battery life.

Performance, memory, and storage
On the published specifications, the P4 Pro sits higher in processor and storage tiers: realme lists a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, up to 12 GB of RAM, and UFS 3.1 storage up to 256 GB. Xiaomi lists an octa-core processor up to 2.3 GHz, up to 8 GB of RAM, and 128 GB UFS 2.2 storage. 91mobiles names the Redmi chip as Snapdragon 4 Gen 4; Xiaomi’s own specification page uses the CPU description rather than that chipset name.
Those labels suggest a stronger paper configuration for the realme, especially for buyers who want more onboard storage or memory. They do not establish how either phone performs in games, sustained workloads, or everyday use; no comparable benchmark results are available here.

Cameras: more listed hardware on the realme
The P4 Pro’s listed rear setup combines a 50 MP Sony IMX896 main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and an 8 MP ultra-wide camera. Its front camera is listed at 50 MP. Xiaomi specifies a 50 MP rear main camera and an 8 MP front camera for the Redmi Note 17 5G, and its product page does not list an ultra-wide camera.

That gives the realme more camera options on paper, including an ultra-wide lens and higher front-camera resolution. Megapixels alone do not show which phone takes better photos: sensor behavior, optics, processing, stabilization, and shooting conditions also matter.

Battery and charging
Xiaomi lists an 8,000 mAh typical silicon-carbon battery for the Redmi, against 7,000 mAh typical for the realme. The Redmi also supports 22.5 W wired reverse charging, which can be useful for powering another device. realme lists faster wired charging wattage at 80 W, compared with Xiaomi’s 45 W.
These are rated specifications, not measured battery endurance or charging times. Actual results depend on usage, settings, charger, and other conditions; the figures alone do not establish how long either phone lasts or how quickly it charges.

Price and availability depend on market
In the 91mobiles comparison snapshot accessed in 2026, the Redmi Note 17 5G was shown at ₹27,999 on Amazon India. The realme P4 Pro was shown at ₹28,999 and marked out of stock. That is a ₹1,000 difference in that snapshot, not a guaranteed current price or official launch-price comparison. Check the live listing for the exact RAM/storage variant, seller, and stock before buying.
Spain has a separate reported price structure. Cinco Días reported on September 17, 2026 that the Redmi Note 17 5G was priced at €349.99 for 6 GB + 128 GB, €379.99 for 6 GB + 256 GB, and €399.99 for 8 GB + 256 GB. These Spanish prices should not be directly compared with India listings: the configurations, taxes, and local market conditions differ.
