For the Realme 16 5G 8GB+128GB, Outlook Business calculates the ₹5,000 rise as about 13.5% of the earlier ₹36,999 listed price. That percentage is the outlet’s calculation from the reported change, not a separate market study.
Why did the prices increase?
Outlook Business reported that a Realme India communication to retail partners attributed the increases to rising memory, chipset and broader smartphone ecosystem costs. This is the company’s stated explanation; the available reporting does not independently establish how much each cost contributed.

Retailer prices may not match the revised figures
The table records reported list-price revisions. A retailer may show a different checkout total because of discounts or promotional offers, and availability can vary by configuration. Check the selected RAM and storage variant and the final checkout price before buying. Realme India’s official store lists both models in its catalog, but no readable official-store price was available in the cited report.
Retailer reaction to the timing
Kailash Lakhyani, founder chairman of the All India Mobile Retailers Association (AIMRA), criticized the timing of the changes. Outlook Business quoted him saying: “Such counterproductive management decisions right at the start of festive buying will alienate consumers, validate market instability, and cause major harm to Mainline retail.” This is Lakhyani’s opinion, not a measured finding about consumer behavior or retail sales.
