In Resident Evil 4 Remake’s Separate Ways DLC, the Chapter 2 Village Cliffs door opens by selecting three positions on the Stone Dais: top middle, bottom right, and left. The order does not matter. Select those three matching symbols and the cliffside route toward the Church unlocks.
Stone Dais solution at a glance
At the locked door in the Village Cliffs, interact with the stone dais beside the doorway. The device presents several symbol positions. Press these three:

You can enter them in any sequence. The puzzle checks whether the correct set of three symbols is selected, not the order in which you press them. When all three are highlighted, the door opens.
Where to find each cliffside symbol
First symbol: beside the input machine
Look immediately to the right of the altar or pedestal where the symbols are entered. The first yellow environmental marking is painted on the nearby stone surface, making it the easiest clue to spot before leaving the dais.

Second symbol: across the cliff
Turn around from the Stone Dais and face the cliff opposite the input machine. The second yellow symbol is painted near the higher catwalk and grapple route. Check the upper section of the rock rather than the ground around the door.
Third symbol: the split marking on the wooden walkways
The last clue is harder to recognize because it is divided across multiple layers of wooden platforms. Grapple to the upper wooden catwalk, continue to its dead end, and look down from above. The separate yellow sections line up into one symbol when viewed from that elevated position.

If the marking looks incomplete from the lower path, do not search for another wall painting. The intended view is from the upper catwalk, where the pieces align.

- Reach the locked cliff door in the Chapter 2 Village Cliffs area.
- Interact with the stone dais beside the door.
- Inspect the yellow paintings around the dais, opposite cliff and upper wooden walkways if you want to solve the puzzle without using the direct answer.
- On the input grid, select top middle, bottom right and left.
- Confirm the selection. The door opens once the three correct positions are active.
Why the third clue is easy to miss
The first two paintings appear on surfaces that can be read from ground level. The third is an environmental alignment puzzle: its yellow strokes are spread over stacked wooden walkways, so the complete design is visible only from above. Reaching the upper catwalk with the grapple is therefore part of finding the clue, not an optional detour.

What happens after the door opens
Opening the Stone Dais door advances the Village Cliffs route toward the Church. The puzzle has one fixed three-symbol solution in the reported encounter; no separate symbol combinations or difficulty-mode variants are established for it.

Troubleshooting
- The door does not open: verify that all three positions are selected, including the left position. Selecting only two symbols will not trigger the mechanism.
- The input order seems wrong: order is irrelevant; clear and reselect the same three positions if necessary.
- You cannot find the final painting: grapple to the upper wooden catwalk, walk to its dead end and look straight down. The yellow pieces are intentionally separated across the walkways.
- You are looking in the wrong area: this encounter is in Chapter 2’s Village Cliffs section of Separate Ways, not the main campaign’s equivalent progression.
