The Razr 70 Ultra is a modest spec-sheet update over the Razr 60 Ultra: it lists Android 16 instead of Android 15, a 5,000 mAh battery instead of 4,700 mAh, and a longer stated software-support window. Motorola lists the same Snapdragon 8 Elite platform and similar display and charging specifications for both. At US launch, the newer model’s MSRP was $200 higher; that is not a comparison of today’s prices.

What changed between the two phones?
Software and support
The Razr 70 Ultra specification page lists Android 16, one Android generation newer than the Android 15 listed for the Razr 60 Ultra. Motorola also states up to three years of OS upgrades and up to five years of security upgrades for the 70 Ultra. The cited 60 Ultra support page does not state an equivalent duration, so the available information does not establish a direct support-period comparison.

Processor, screens, and charging
Motorola lists the Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform for both phones, so these specifications do not show a processor-generation upgrade. Their main displays have the same 2992 × 1224 resolution and 165 Hz refresh class, and their cover displays share the listed 4.0-inch size, 1272 × 1080 resolution, and 3,000-nit peak figure. The 70 Ultra’s listed main-screen peak is 5,000 nits versus 4,500 nits for the 60 Ultra, but peak-brightness methods and market specifications may differ; the figures alone do not establish which looks better in ordinary use.
Both spec pages list 68 W wired, 30 W wireless, and 5 W reverse charging. Confirm charger inclusion and other in-box accessories for the exact regional package.

Memory and storage
Motorola’s US support listing gives the Razr 60 Ultra 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. The reviewed US Razr 70 Ultra support specification page does not state memory or storage, so a like-for-like comparison cannot be confirmed from these listings.

The documentation is not directly aligned: Motorola’s 2025 announcement describes a triple 50 MP system for the 60 Ultra, while the 70 Ultra support page lists two rear cameras, a 50 MP wide and a 50 MP ultra-wide. That difference in published descriptions is not enough to establish which phone takes better photos, and no head-to-head photo test is available.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which Razr Ultra should you choose?
Choose the Razr 70 Ultra if
- You want the newer Android version listed by Motorola and value its explicit OS and security support commitment.
- The increase in stated battery capacity matters to you, while recognizing that it is not proof of longer tested runtime.
- The local price premium is acceptable for these changes.
Consider the Razr 60 Ultra if
- Its current price in your market is substantially lower and its published specifications meet your needs.
- You do not need Android 16 or the 70 Ultra’s stated support window.
The US launch-price gap does not tell you the current difference at retailers. Check current local prices before deciding; discounts and availability were not established in Motorola’s launch announcements.
