Which Wolverine V4 model has removable buttons?
Razer announced two controllers in the Wolverine V4 line: the wireless Wolverine V4 Pro and the wired Wolverine V4 Tournament Edition. The removable-button design belongs to the Pro. Razer says its four magnetic back buttons can be configured in different combinations, from one to all four, and its two claw-grip bumpers are also removable. The Pro’s magnetic faceplate can be taken off as well, allowing use without it or personalization. Razer’s October 6, 2026 announcement describes these features.
Windows Central reports that the Tournament Edition’s rear paddles and faceplate are not removable. That makes the Pro the relevant option if changing the rear-button layout is the priority. Windows Central’s launch coverage also distinguishes the wireless Pro from the wired model.

What the Pro’s polling and stick specifications mean
Razer specifies polling of up to 250 Hz on Xbox and up to 8,000 Hz on PC. The 8,000 Hz figure applies to PC, not Xbox, and both are manufacturer specifications rather than independently verified measurements in the available coverage. Razer’s announcement describes sub-1 ms response times, while its product page describes sub-2 ms latency; these are different claims from Razer, not independent test results. Razer says the contactless capacitive thumbstick sensors use a 16-bit ADC and register approximately 3,000 movement steps. Its footnote attributes that figure to a measurement made with a Razer Hyper Wireless dongle connected to a PC at 8,000 Hz polling. Razer presents the contactless design as intended to resist the degradation associated with traditional stick drift, but the available sources do not establish independent drift or durability results.

Choose the Pro if you want a wireless Xbox and PC controller and expect to adjust or remove rear buttons, bumpers or the faceplate. Consider the wired Tournament Edition if you do not need wireless use or removable rear controls and want the lower reported launch price. Before purchase, verify the current price and terms in your region; the $330 figure in the original headline is not supported as the US launch price by the cited launch coverage.
