The Razer Tartarus V2 Pro pairs a programmable one-handed keypad with adjustable analog optical keys, but its thumbstick setup may be a sticking point. In its October 3, 2026 review, Windows Central praised the key feel and wrist-rest comfort while reporting confusing thumbstick behavior and lighting problems. Razer documents configuration through Synapse, but the available evidence does not establish whether a software update has resolved those issues.
What the Tartarus V2 Pro offers
Razer describes the Tartarus V2 Pro as a one-handed gaming keypad with 31 programmable controls, a TMR thumbstick with a replaceable cap, an adjustable wrist rest, and configurable keymaps and macros through Razer Synapse. The manufacturer also lists adjustable actuation and Rapid Trigger. These features make it a programmable control surface for games that benefit from many mapped actions; they do not, by themselves, establish a competitive advantage.
On its US product page, Razer specifies an actuation range of 0.1–4.0 mm and says Rapid Trigger can reset with upward movement as low as 0.1 mm. How the keys and wrist rest feel
Windows Central’s October 3, 2026 hands-on review describes the key cluster as smooth and praises the adjustable wrist rest’s comfort. Those are the reviewer’s impressions, not results from a controlled comparison or a measure of long-term comfort. The review’s author also saw the keypad as a potentially good fit for games with many abilities and rotation orders, writing: “If you’re into games with a huge number of abilities and the rotation orders around them, you’ll likely love it.” That is an individual opinion, not evidence about how most players will feel.

Why the thumbstick setup is the main concern
In that same review, Windows Central reported that the thumbstick defaulted to a right-stick role and that its forward orientation felt unintuitive to the reviewer. The reviewer said they could not realign the inputs at the time. This is a dated, individual report—not confirmation that every unit behaves the same way, that the limitation remains, or that a later update fixed it.

A Razer Insider user asked whether the analog stick could be set to “Left Stick” rather than “Right Stick” and mentioned Synapse 4.0.14.2609150422. That forum question records a user’s concern; it does not establish the answer or confirm an official limitation. Razer’s support material points users to Synapse for device configuration, but the available documentation does not settle how the stick can be mapped for every game or whether its orientation can be changed. The game’s own input handling may also affect whether a mapping works as intended. Check the current configuration and test the stick in the specific game before relying on it.

How to approach setup
- Use the current Razer configuration software. Razer’s support article directs users to Synapse for keymaps, macros, lighting, and device configuration, and recommends current Synapse software and firmware.
- Set up a game-specific keymap. Assign the controls you need, then verify each action in the game rather than assuming every title interprets the keypad or analog input identically.
- Check the thumbstick role and direction in practice. If you need a left-stick mapping or a particular forward direction, test those inputs in your game and current software setup. The available sources do not confirm a universal remapping method or a fix for the behavior in the review.
- Verify lighting separately. Configure the lighting in Synapse and confirm it behaves as expected on your system; the review’s complaint is not proof of a current, universal fault.
Who should consider it—and who should pause
The Tartarus V2 Pro is most compelling for players who want a dedicated hand-held cluster of programmable controls and expect to tune keymaps for games with many abilities. Adjustable actuation and Rapid Trigger may appeal to players interested in those controls, but Razer’s specifications do not demonstrate a measured performance gain.
Pause if your setup depends on the thumbstick acting like a particular controller stick, or if you need its forward orientation to match a specific expectation. The review’s report makes that a sensible compatibility check, but not a definitive verdict for every configuration. The same applies if lighting behavior is important to your setup.

Search for the exact name “Razer Tartarus V2 Pro.” Razer’s support page identifies it as model RZ07-0552. It is distinct from the Tartarus Pro and Tartarus V2, so verify the model name before purchasing. Current stock and marketplace pricing are not established here.
