The Razer Huntsman V3 Pro Low-profile Tenkeyless 8KHz is a wired, low-profile gaming keyboard built around adjustable analog optical switches, rapid reset behavior, and an 8,000 Hz polling option. Its most distinctive features target competitive play, but they do not guarantee better results: the strongest speed figure available is Razer’s own controlled test, not an independent or end-to-end latency comparison. The practical choice comes down to whether you want short key travel and extensive tuning enough to accept a wired-only design and a premium price.

What kind of keyboard is it?

Announced on August 20, 2026, the Huntsman V3 Pro Low-profile Tenkeyless 8KHz is a wired TKL keyboard: it omits the number pad and uses a slimmer key-and-case profile than a conventional-height gaming keyboard. Razer calls it the world’s first low-profile analog optical esports keyboard; that is the company’s claim, not an independently established category distinction.

Its main differentiator is the combination of short-travel low-profile switches with adjustable actuation and competitive input tools. Razer’s product page lists a 19.5 mm front height, lubricated switches, internal foam dampening, onboard profile storage, and quick onboard adjustments. Windows Central also reports per-key RGB, an aluminum top plate, doubleshot PBT keycaps, a multifunction dial, dedicated media buttons, and a detachable braided USB Type-C cable. How do actuation and Rapid Trigger work?

Adjustable actuation

Razer specifies an adjustable actuation range of 0.1 to 2.8 mm and total key travel of 2.8 mm. Actuation is the point in a press at which a key registers. Setting a shallower point can make a key register earlier in its travel; a deeper setting requires more movement. Because the entire travel is 2.8 mm, these switches offer less depth than many traditional-height keyboard switches.

Rapid Trigger

With a conventional fixed reset point, a key generally has to return past a set position before it can register another press. Rapid Trigger instead changes reset behavior as the key moves: the key can reset when it moves upward, rather than waiting to cross one fixed reset point. This can make repeated inputs feel more responsive in situations where rapid re-presses matter. It is a control option, not a guarantee of faster play, and its value depends on the game, settings, and player.

Razer says Rapid Trigger can be configured in Synapse or adjusted onboard with Fn + Caps Lock. Its FAQ says the feature is unavailable on the Factory Default profile. The same FAQ says Snap Tap can be toggled with Fn + Left Shift and is paired to A and D by default. Check the current product FAQ for the latest configuration details.

  • PRO-LEVEL SPEED AND PRECISION — Gain ultra-fast repeated inputs with Gen‑2 Razer Analog Optical Switches featuring Rapid Trigger and a 0.1–4.0 mm adjustable actuation range for competitive FPS and esports play
  • CLEANER MOVEMENT IN CLUTCH MOMENTS — Execute faster directional changes with Razer Snap Tap, which prioritizes your intended input when two assigned keys are pressed simultaneously during intense gameplay
  • True 8000 Hz Polling for near-zero latency - Gain a split-second advantage over your opponents with a blistering polling rate 8 times faster than the industry standard. Experience the fastest response and pull off every play without delay.
  • NEAR-ZERO INPUT LATENCY — React instantly with true 8000 Hz HyperPolling, delivering response times up to 8× faster than standard gaming keyboards for split-second advantages in shooters and competitive titles
  • ONBOARD PERFORMANCE TUNING — Adjust actuation height and Rapid Trigger sensitivity directly on the keyboard using the number row, then save settings to onboard memory with no software required

What do the extra input features do?

  • True 8000 Hz HyperPolling: Sets how often the keyboard reports its state to the computer. Razer says 8000 Hz can be selected in Synapse. A high polling setting is a capability, not proof that a player will perceive or achieve a corresponding improvement.
  • Snap Flex: Lets a key perform one action on press and another on release, allowing two events to be assigned to a key’s press-and-release cycle.
  • Snap Tap: Helps handle opposing directional inputs, a feature aimed at movement scenarios where two directions may be pressed in succession or together. Razer pairs it to A and D by default.
  • Dynamic Keystroke: Maps up to four actions to different actuation depths of a key, so a shallow press and a deeper press can trigger different inputs.
  • Dual-Keypress Priority: Helps resolve conflicting directional inputs when two keys are pressed at once. The exact behavior depends on configuration and the game.

These functions are most relevant to players who want to tune movement or multi-stage inputs. They add configuration choices and software dependence, and they will not benefit every genre or play style equally. Razer advertises Synapse Web support for personalized configuration without installing the usual desktop application; confirm current feature availability and behavior on the product page.

How strong is the 0.39 ms speed claim?

Razer reports an average latency of 0.39 ms and a 52% advantage over the nearest competing keyboard it tested. Those figures are manufacturer-reported results from 20 measurements, with every keyboard set to 0.1 mm actuation. Razer measured the interval from switch actuation until the signal reached the host USB port, and says the percentage is rounded. It also cautions that end-to-end latency varies with the test setup and devices. This is not a measurement of the full delay from a player’s press through a game’s response, and it is not an independent standardized comparison. Razer’s launch announcement

The 8,000 Hz polling option and low actuation setting describe what the keyboard can do. They do not establish a universal improvement in responsiveness or game performance; the result depends on the rest of the system and how the keyboard is configured.

What did Windows Central’s reviewer think of typing and gaming?

Windows Central’s Daniel Rubino reported using the keyboard for two weeks, including for typing and gaming. He praised its crisp typing feel, soft actuation, and satisfying but relatively quiet acoustics. Those are his reported hands-on impressions, not testing by this publication. Razer’s launch announcement also quotes Counter-Strike player Lotan “Spinx” Giladi saying, “Low-profile has always felt natural to me. Now I get the speed and precision to compete at the highest level.” That is an endorsement published by the manufacturer, not independent evidence of a performance outcome.

What are the main trade-offs?

Consideration What it means
Wired-only connection There is no wireless connection, according to Windows Central. Choose it for a wired setup, not if wireless use is essential.
Short travel The 2.8 mm total travel favors a low-profile feel; people who prefer deeper key movement may prefer a traditional-height board.
Many competitive controls Adjustable actuation and input features offer flexibility but require configuration. A simpler keyboard may suit someone who does not need those options.
No wrist rest in the box Windows Central notes that none is included. Rubino paired it with an optional foam wrist rest; a compatible TKL rest is optional, not a necessary part of the keyboard.
Price snapshot Windows Central reported a US price of $229.99 on August 20, 2026. That is a dated report, not a verified current price or offer.

In its August 20, 2026 review, Windows Central also compared the board with the Razer BlackWidow V4 Low-Profile HyperSpeed, described there as wireless with traditional mechanical switches and 1,000 Hz polling, and the Logitech G515 RAPID TKL, described as using Hall Effect switches. Those comparisons are publication-date descriptions; check current specifications and pricing before treating them as buying guidance. Windows Central reported availability from Razer, Best Buy, Amazon, and other retailers at publication, but current stock and offers are not established here.

Who should consider the Huntsman V3 Pro Low-Profile TKL?

  • It may fit if you specifically want a low-profile TKL, short travel, adjustable actuation, and tools for tuning competitive inputs—and are comfortable with a wired connection.
  • Look elsewhere if wireless use or deeper key travel is important, or if you want a simpler keyboard without competitive configuration features.
  • Judge the speed claims carefully: Razer’s latency figure is a manufacturer test result with a defined USB-port endpoint, not a promise of a measurable advantage in your own games.
