If Ray-Ban Meta glasses will not connect, fix the pairing state before attempting a reset. Charge the glasses in their case for at least an hour, switch them on, remove old Bluetooth and Meta AI app pairings, then put the glasses into pairing mode by holding the case button for five seconds. Add them again through the Meta AI app—not directly from the phone’s Bluetooth list. A restart or force-restart preserves captures; a factory reset erases captures and account associations, so use it only after saving your photos and videos.
Use the least destructive fix first
Connection failures usually occur at one of three points: the phone does not discover the glasses over Bluetooth, Bluetooth lists the glasses but the Meta AI app cannot add them, or the glasses are still associated with another Meta account. The correct remedy depends on where the process stops.

Do not factory-reset merely because the app is slow to discover the glasses. A normal restart and the documented force-restart procedure are reversible; the factory reset is not.
Check power, distance, and phone readiness
Charge the case and glasses
- Place the glasses in their charging case for at least one hour, or until the case LED is green.
- Confirm that the power switch on the left temple is on.
- Keep the phone close to the case and glasses while pairing.
- Turn on Bluetooth on the phone.
A low battery can make discovery intermittent or stop the glasses from entering pairing mode reliably. The green case LED is the practical charging checkpoint supplied by Ray-Ban’s instructions; do not proceed as if a partially charged case has ruled out a power problem.

Remove simple radio obstacles
Keep the phone in front of you or in a front pocket rather than behind your body, and move closer to the glasses. Temporarily disconnect other Bluetooth accessories. A nearby connection from headphones, a car system, a watch, or another accessory can compete for the phone’s attention even when the glasses themselves are working.
Clear stale pairings before trying again
A phone can remember a previous Bluetooth relationship while the Meta AI app retains a different or incomplete association. Clear both records instead of repeatedly tapping a failed connection.
On an iPhone
- Open Settings and choose Bluetooth.
- Find the Ray-Ban Meta glasses in the device list, tap the information button, and choose Forget This Device.
- Open the Meta AI app. If the glasses are still listed, use the app’s unpair or remove option.
- Turn Bluetooth off, wait briefly, and turn it on again.
- Restart the iPhone and switch the glasses off and on.
Forgetting the device in iOS removes the phone’s old Bluetooth record; removing it in Meta AI clears the app’s device relationship. Doing only one of those can leave the other side trying to use stale information.
On Android
- Open the phone’s Bluetooth settings and remove or forget the Ray-Ban Meta glasses if they are present.
- In Meta AI, open the glasses’ device settings and unpair or remove them if the app still shows them.
- Toggle Bluetooth off and back on.
- Restart the phone and the glasses before beginning a new pairing attempt.
Android menu names vary by manufacturer, but the relevant actions are the same: remove the saved Bluetooth device, remove the glasses from Meta AI, restart, and then use the app’s Add device flow.

Put the glasses into pairing mode and add them in Meta AI
Pairing should be initiated from the Meta AI app. The phone’s Bluetooth page may show a remembered or discoverable device, but that list is not a substitute for the app’s setup process.
- Switch the glasses on and dock them in the charging case.
- Close or leave the case positioned so the glasses remain seated, then press and hold the button on the back of the case for at least five seconds.
- Watch for the case LED to pulse blue. That pulsing blue light indicates pairing mode.
- Allow up to about ten seconds for discovery.
- Open Meta AI, enter the gear or settings area, select Add device, and follow the prompts for Ray-Ban Meta glasses.
If the LED does not pulse blue, repeat the sequence after confirming the glasses are powered on and charged. Holding the button for less than five seconds may not invoke pairing mode. Keep the phone close while the app searches.
When Bluetooth sees the glasses but Meta AI does not
This symptom usually means the phone has a stale record or the glasses are not in the app’s expected pairing state. Do not keep selecting the device from Bluetooth settings. Instead, perform the complete cleanup:
- Forget the glasses in the phone’s Bluetooth settings.
- Unpair or remove them from Meta AI.
- Toggle Bluetooth and restart the phone.
- Switch the glasses off and on.
- Dock them in the case, hold the case button for five seconds, wait for the pulsing blue LED, and use Meta AI > Settings (gear) > Add device.
Discovery can take roughly ten seconds once pairing mode is active. If the app still cannot find them, reduce distance and disconnect other Bluetooth devices before repeating the search.

Fix calls, music, and Android video-call connections
Calls and music after successful pairing
Pairing and media routing are separate checks. On Android, open the connected-device or Bluetooth details for the glasses and verify that the glasses are enabled for phone calls and audio. If either profile is disabled, the glasses may appear connected while calls use the handset or music continues through another device.
Also disconnect competing Bluetooth accessories temporarily. Reconnect them one at a time after the glasses work so you can identify a conflict instead of changing several variables at once.
Video-call connection problems on Android
Ray-Ban lists three additional conditions that can help with some Android video-call connection problems:

- Turn the phone’s VPN off temporarily.
- Turn the phone’s mobile hotspot off.
These settings are troubleshooting conditions, not a guarantee that every video-call application will support the glasses. Re-enable a VPN or hotspot after testing if you need those services, then check whether the specific call application loses the connection again.

Restart the glasses before considering a reset
Normal restart
Slide the glasses’ power switch off, wait a moment, and slide it on again. This refreshes the connection without deleting captures or account information.
Force-restart procedure
- Switch the glasses off.
- Press and hold the capture button.
- While continuing to hold the capture button, switch the glasses on.
- Release the button when the status LED turns red.
Ray-Ban’s guidance states that this force restart does not delete captures and does not require you to pair the glasses again. Use it after ordinary power cycling when the glasses appear frozen, fail to advertise a connection, or do not respond normally.

A factory reset is appropriate when the glasses are associated with an account you cannot use, or when persistent pairing data remains after the non-destructive steps. It is not a routine Bluetooth refresh.
Save media first
Import or otherwise save every photo and video stored on the glasses before resetting. The factory reset erases on-glasses captures. Treat this as irreversible: do not assume the reset will preserve media merely because the files were previously visible in Meta AI.

Reset sequence
- Close the right temple of the glasses.
- Press the capture button five times. The user LED should turn orange.
- Press and hold the capture button until the LED flashes.
- Release the button.
- Wait while the LED cycles white and green, then allow the glasses to shut off.
The reset removes captures and account associations. Afterward, forget any old Bluetooth entry on the phone, open Meta AI, choose Add device, put the glasses in pairing mode with the five-second case-button hold, and complete setup as a new pairing.
Resolve the “glasses belong to another account” message
Ray-Ban states: “Ray-Ban Meta Glasses can only pair with one Meta account at a time.” If Meta AI says the glasses belong to another account, ordinary Bluetooth deletion will not transfer ownership. The previous association must be cleared with a factory reset before a different owner can pair them.
If you are the previous owner, save the captures and reset the glasses using the sequence above. If you received the glasses from someone else, ask that person to confirm they no longer need the media and understand that the reset removes their on-glasses captures. Then complete the new owner’s pairing through Meta AI rather than trying to claim the device from the Bluetooth screen.

What to do when every pairing attempt fails
Repeat the clean procedure once with the phone close, other Bluetooth devices disconnected, and the glasses fully charged. Confirm that the case can enter pulsing-blue pairing mode and that the app is using Add device. If calls or music are the only failures, verify Android call and audio profiles rather than resetting the glasses.
If the glasses never enter pairing mode, shut down unexpectedly, refuse to charge, or remain undiscoverable after a factory reset, do not assume more resets will repair them. The fault may involve the glasses, charging case, battery, or phone compatibility. Use Ray-Ban’s assistance or warranty-claim route and describe which LED behavior, pairing stage, and phone type you observed. A reset cannot correct every hardware or compatibility problem.
