The practical choice is between a Katar setup oriented around critical-focused play and a dagger setup associated with Double Attack and faster strikes. What does the Assassin class do?
Assassin is part of the Thief lineage and is generally presented as a close-range damage class. Class names and progression labels can differ across sources: BlueStacks lists Assassin, Assassin Cross, and Shadow Cross, while the official Ragnarok X announcement describes the third-class system and identifies Guillotine Cross as an assassin and poison specialist. Check the job names and available progression in your own client rather than assuming those labels are identical in every region or version.

Which stats should an Assassin raise?
The available guide material gives qualitative roles rather than reliable current thresholds. Use those roles to frame your choices, then check your character sheet and skill tooltips as you allocate points.
- STR: presented as contributing to physical attack, making it a candidate for either weapon direction.
- AGI: associated with attack speed and evasion, useful to consider if your setup depends on faster attacks.
- LUK: associated with critical-focused builds, so it is especially relevant to investigate for a Katar direction.
- DEX: can help address accuracy needs; consider it if you are missing attacks rather than copying a preset allocation.
No defensible current numeric breakpoints are established here. Avoid importing fixed numbers from another Ragnarok game, server, or older build. Compare your live character-sheet values and test how a point changes the stats and skills that matter to your chosen weapon.

How should you use the build in PvE and PvP?
PvE
As a general approach, use area damage when dealing with groups and burst skills against a priority target. Cloaking can help with an approach or repositioning. Which skills are efficient depends on their current effects and your character’s build; there is no comparative evidence here to claim that Assassin currently dominates a particular PvE activity.
PvP
Qualitative guide advice suggests looking for fragile or high-impact targets, using stealth to engage, and disengaging when a fight turns against you. Treat that as a tactical starting point, not evidence of current arena strength or matchup rankings.

Choose your weapon direction first, then evaluate in-game equipment and accessories according to the stats your setup needs.
