There is no “RACQ Standard” tier among the RACQ roadside-assistance plans currently listed. If by “Standard” you mean RACQ’s basic commuter option, that is RACQ Everyday: it is aimed at short-distance daily driving, costs $109 per year at the price listed as valid from 1 January 2026, and can tow a vehicle up to 20 km if RACQ cannot get it moving. This review covers Everyday on that provisional basis; check the exact plan name and current terms before buying.
What is RACQ Everyday?
Everyday is one of RACQ’s roadside-assistance tiers, positioned for daily commuters who travel short distances. It is a service for getting roadside help when an eligible vehicle has a problem; it is not motor-vehicle insurance.
RACQ’s current plan list includes Everyday Lite, Everyday, Everyday Plus, Ultra Care, Ultimate Care and RACQ RV. It does not show a tier named “RACQ Standard.” Do not confuse RACQ’s Everyday plan with “RAC Standard Roadside Assistance,” which is a separate product offered by RAC WA.

The plan page also lists vehicle and use exclusions, including personal cover, large vehicles, rental and commercial vehicles, vehicles for sale, unregistered vehicles, tractors and farm equipment, racing vehicles, and vehicles used as a residence. Eligibility depends on the applicable policy terms, so check those terms against your vehicle and how you use it.
How far will RACQ tow your car?
For Everyday, RACQ lists towing up to 20 km if it cannot get the vehicle moving. The distance is a plan limit, not a promise that every destination or breakdown location is covered. RACQ’s plan overview also gives an attendance-distance limit—the distance to which assistance can be provided—which is different from towing distance.

RACQ’s overview lists the following annual prices and distance limits, valid from 1 January 2026. Compare the limits with the driving and towing distances you actually need; higher tiers cost more and offer different entitlements.

RACQ’s overview says higher tiers add longer attendance and towing limits and travel entitlements. The listed comparison does not establish all details needed to compare whether cover follows a nominated vehicle or a person, supported vehicle types, or the full travel benefits of every tier. Check the relevant plan documents rather than assuming those features are the same across memberships.

Waiting periods, eligibility and exclusions
RACQ’s terms search result, which gives an effective date of 2 July 2026, says a 48-hour waiting period applies to relevant roadside services. It describes eligible vehicles as private-use, registered and roadworthy, subject to size limits. The precise policy wording can vary by product and renewal; read the terms applying to the membership date you are considering.
The terms summary also identifies inaccessible breakdown locations and water damage among exclusions. It says the service does not pay repair costs or provide parts such as batteries and tyres. Roadside assistance is not a substitute for motor-vehicle insurance and does not cover an insurable event.

Can you use RACQ assistance interstate?
RACQ says a member who breaks down interstate may receive basic roadside help through reciprocal benefits from the local motoring club, depending on location. That does not mean interstate assistance matches the member’s usual RACQ tier or its full entitlements. Confirm what help applies in the place you are travelling.

RACQ’s published service figures
RACQ reports an average response time of 35 minutes, more than 715,000 roadside jobs attended in the prior year, and that 91% of drivers were returned to the road. These are provider-published, FY26-based figures, not independent measurements or guarantees for an individual callout.

Who should consider Everyday?
Everyday is the most relevant of the listed options if you want basic roadside help for short-distance daily driving and are comfortable with the plan’s 20 km towing limit. Compare it with Everyday Lite if you do not need towing, or Everyday Plus if its higher attendance and towing limits better match your journeys. For either choice, verify the current price, eligibility, waiting period and exclusions in RACQ’s terms.
