Today’s Classic Quordle, Sunday, October 18, 2026, is puzzle #1728. The four answers are FLINT, FUROR, WEDGE, and RODEO. If you want to solve without seeing the words, use the clues below first and stop before the spoiler section.
How today’s Quordle works
Classic Quordle gives you four five-letter words to solve simultaneously. You have nine guesses shared across all four boards, so every submitted word is tested against each board at once. A green tile means the letter is correct and in the correct position. A yellow tile means the letter appears in that board’s answer but is in a different position; unmarked letters are not present in that answer.
Because one guess affects four boards, an opening word with several distinct, common letters can provide more useful information than a guess aimed at only one board. Once a board becomes nearly complete, keep checking the other three before spending one of the nine shared attempts.
Clues for Quordle #1728
These clues are in board order, from the upper-left board through the fourth board. The first letters are F, F, W, and R.
#1 Best Overall
- FLINT: A type of rock that can produce sparks and start a fire; it is also the name of a city in Michigan.
- FUROR: A noisy outburst of excitement, controversy, or anger from a crowd or the public.
- WEDGE: A piece of wood or another material placed under a door to hold it open.
- RODEO: An event where cowboys demonstrate skills such as riding bucking animals and roping.
Try using the definitions to identify word families, then use the colored tiles to place each letter. The two F-starting answers are especially easy to confuse if you focus only on the first letter, so their definitions provide the deciding information.

Rank #2
- Board 1: FLINT
- Board 2: FUROR
- Board 3: WEDGE
- Board 4: RODEO
None of these four listed answers has a repeated letter. That detail matters when checking tile patterns: a second copy of a letter should not be assumed unless Quordle’s feedback confirms it.

WordSolverX labels this set as Quordle #1728 for October 18, 2026. Its daily modes reset at midnight Japan Standard Time (JST). Quordle’s “today” can therefore appear on a different calendar date for players elsewhere: a player in North America or Europe may encounter the set late on October 17 or early on October 18, depending on the local time and daylight-saving rules. If the puzzle number does not match, check the reset time before assuming you have the wrong answers.

A practical way to finish all four boards
1. Start with information, not a single-board guess
Use an opening word that tests several high-frequency letters and avoids unnecessary duplicates. The result is applied to every board, giving you a shared map of likely positions and exclusions.
2. Separate confirmed positions from possible positions
Record green letters in their exact slots. For yellow letters, move them to untested slots rather than repeatedly placing them where they have already failed. Keep a separate set of letters ruled out on each board because a letter can be absent from one answer but present in another.
3. Spend guesses where they advance multiple boards
When one board has a nearly certain word, check whether the same guess can test unresolved letters on the other boards. A correct word is useful, but a guess that reveals several placements may save more of the nine-guess budget.

4. Verify the final spelling before submitting
FLINT and FUROR both begin with F, while WEDGE and RODEO begin with different letters. Confirm each board’s definition and tile pattern independently; solving one board does not remove the need to validate the remaining three.
