QueerCade is a creator-described arcade for discovering LGBTQ+ video games, characters, developers, and studios. Its creator submitted the project through both paths of the Sanity Challenge, using one Sanity dataset to power several ways to explore.
What is QueerCade?
QueerCade is presented by its creator as a curated LGBTQ+ video-game discovery experience, rather than simply a catalog. Visitors can browse a retro-styled storefront, explore character connections, or use a prompt-based feature to look for games.

Arcade-style storefront
The storefront uses retro 8-bit pixel-art styling to present the collection. It offers a more conventional browse-and-discover starting point than the project’s character- or prompt-focused features.
Queer Character Constellation
The constellation visualizes relationships among LGBTQ+ characters across decades. The creator reports that it plots “870+ LGBTQ+ characters.” That is an author-reported figure for the 2026 submission, not an independently audited or guaranteed current total.

Emoji Game Oracle

What powers the project?
The creator says that screens, filters, and graphs read from Sanity using GROQ, and that the project has no other content database. In that account, a shared dataset supports the different discovery interfaces. This is the creator’s description of the architecture, not the result of an independent technical audit.
