Short answer: Pump.fun and Raydium are separate launch routes, not two buttons that lead to the same market. A Pump.fun coin starts on Pump.fun’s constant-product bonding curve and, when it reaches the documented threshold, graduates to PumpSwap. A Raydium LaunchLab coin starts on Raydium’s configurable bonding curve and graduates to a Raydium constant-product market-maker (CPMM) pool. A Pump.fun launch does not automatically become a Raydium listing.

If you are trading an existing token, ignore the venue’s reputation as a shortcut. Find the token’s verified mint address, identify its current pool or bonding curve, and compare liquidity, expected price impact, route fees and graduation status for the exact trade you plan to make.

The two launch paths are different from the start

The phrase “launch directly on Raydium” can describe Raydium’s LaunchLab product, but LaunchLab is itself a curve-based launch system. It is not simply the act of creating a token and immediately depositing it into an established pool. The most important distinction is where the token begins trading and where liquidity is designed to end up.

Pump.fun: curve first, PumpSwap after graduation

Every coin launched through Pump.fun begins on a constant-product bonding curve. Buyers and sellers trade against the curve rather than against a conventional pool with a fixed pair of reserves. As trades consume one side of the reserves and add to the other, the quoted price changes. A larger order therefore tends to move the price more than a smaller order, especially when the curve has limited reserves.

When the documented graduation threshold is reached, Pump.fun says the curve closes and liquidity migrates atomically to PumpSwap. The platform’s wording is explicit: “Graduation is automatic and irreversible. There’s no human step.” That means a creator cannot pause the process and redirect the token to Raydium after the threshold has been met. The destination described by current Pump.fun documentation is PumpSwap, not Raydium.

Raydium LaunchLab: configurable curve, Raydium CPMM after graduation

LaunchLab is Raydium’s own token-launch product. A creator deploys a token against a bonding curve denominated in a quote mint, usually SOL or USDC. Raydium says a creator does not need to pre-seed liquidity for the curve. LaunchLab also documents configurable curve formulas and fee splits, giving the creator more parameters to choose than a simple, fixed launch path.

Once the LaunchLab threshold is met, the launch migrates into a Raydium CPMM pool. The resulting pool follows the CPMM configuration and fee arrangement that applies to that pool. A LaunchLab token and a Pump.fun token can therefore have similar curve-based beginnings while ending in different venues and fee systems.

Why an old “Pump.fun to Raydium” guide can mislead

Older posts may describe a Pump.fun coin as eventually moving to Raydium. That is not the current documented flow cited above. Use the token’s actual mint address and current pool data rather than relying on launch-platform assumptions. If the token graduated from Pump.fun, look for its PumpSwap market; if it graduated from LaunchLab, look for the Raydium CPMM pool created by that launch.

Launch costs and trading fees

There is no single “platform fee” that captures the cost of launching or trading. Separate the creator’s launch charge, bonding-curve trading fee, graduation or migration charge, pool-creation cost, account rent, network fee and any swap or route fee. The figures below are documentation snapshots, not guaranteed totals for every wallet, quote mint or transaction.

Cost item Pump.fun Raydium LaunchLab How to interpret it
Coin creation fee No platform fee listed on Pump.fun’s fee page, last updated 2026-10-08 Not stated as a separate universal amount in the cited overview “No platform fee” does not mean the transaction is free; network and account costs can still apply.
Bonding-curve trading fee 1.25% total on the documented bonding curve, accessed 2026-10-13 Depends on the LaunchLab curve and fee configuration Confirm the fee shown for the specific launch and route before trading.
Graduation or migration charge 0.015 SOL listed on Pump.fun’s fee page, updated 2026-10-08 Separate migration and pool costs are listed; no single guaranteed total is stated The payer and exact amount can depend on the launch settings and transaction path.
LaunchLab fee Not applicable Approximately 0.1 SOL in Raydium’s fee comparison Raydium labels this an approximate documentation figure, not a quote for every launch.
Curve-account rent Not stated in the cited Pump.fun fee page Approximately 0.015 SOL in Raydium’s fee comparison Rent and network amounts can vary and should be checked live.
Pool creation, migration and network costs Applicable components can depend on pairing, coin settings, transaction route and who triggers migration Listed as separate components in Raydium’s fee comparison Budget for more than the headline launch number.

For Pump.fun’s current fee components, consult the fee page as well as the bonding-curve documentation. For Raydium’s approximate LaunchLab, rent, pool and migration figures, use Raydium’s fee comparison. Both platforms note, in different ways, that configurations and network costs can change. Read the transaction preview in the live interface immediately before signing.

How bonding curves affect the price you receive

Constant-product mechanics

A constant-product curve maintains a relationship between the two reserves. A purchase removes tokens from one reserve and adds the quote asset to the other, so the marginal price rises as the purchase gets larger. A sale has the opposite effect. The quoted price at the beginning of a transaction is therefore not the same as the average price across the entire order.

Two numbers matter: slippage tolerance, which is the maximum execution difference you permit, and price impact, which is the movement caused by your own order relative to the available reserves. Increasing slippage tolerance does not make a thin market liquid; it only allows a worse fill. Splitting a very large trade can reduce the impact of any one transaction, but the total cost still depends on how the curve and route reprice between transactions.

Before graduation

On either platform’s curve, inspect the amount of reserves and the size of your order before approving a swap. A token that appears to have a rapidly rising quoted price may still have insufficient depth for your sell order. The 1.25% Pump.fun curve fee is separate from the price movement caused by your trade. On LaunchLab, the applicable curve fee depends on the launch configuration.

After graduation

Graduation changes the market structure, not the token’s quality. The token trades against a PumpSwap market after Pump.fun graduation or a Raydium CPMM pool after LaunchLab graduation. Compare the actual pool’s liquidity and fee tier with the order size you intend to place. A newly graduated pool can have a different depth and spread from the curve it replaced, and a venue name alone does not tell you whether the pool can absorb your order.

Choosing a launch venue as a creator

Choose Pump.fun when PumpSwap is the intended destination

Pump.fun is the more direct fit when you want its standard curve launch and accept the documented automatic migration to PumpSwap. The choice is operationally simple: there is no graduation vote or manual destination decision once the threshold is hit. Your planning should therefore include the PumpSwap market as the token’s next trading venue, rather than assuming a Raydium pool will appear.

  • Use the documented Pump.fun curve and its 1.25% total curve fee as your starting assumptions, then verify the live transaction.
  • Include the listed 0.015 SOL graduation charge in your budget, while allowing for route, pairing and network differences.
  • Explain to buyers that graduation is automatic and irreversible.
  • Prepare liquidity monitoring and communications for the PumpSwap phase.

Choose LaunchLab when Raydium CPMM is the intended destination

LaunchLab suits a creator who wants to configure a curve, choose a quote mint such as SOL or USDC, and have the launch graduate into a Raydium CPMM pool. The ability to configure curve formulas and fee splits can be useful when the token’s distribution or pricing plan does not fit a single standard curve.

  • Model the approximate 0.1 SOL LaunchLab fee and approximately 0.015 SOL curve-account rent as separate budget lines, not as a guaranteed all-in quote.
  • Account for pool creation, migration and network costs shown separately in Raydium’s fee reference.
  • Decide which quote mint is appropriate for your audience and explain how that choice affects the trading pair.
  • Document the selected curve and fee arrangement before inviting buyers.

What neither choice guarantees

Neither a Pump.fun launch nor a LaunchLab launch guarantees buyers, graduation, durable liquidity, a particular market capitalization or a safe token. A curve can attract activity and still leave later sellers with severe price impact. Graduation is a market-structure event, not an endorsement, audit or proof that demand will continue.

A practical launch workflow

The exact buttons and wallet prompts can change, so treat the following as a decision and verification sequence rather than a promise of a fixed interface.

Workflow for a Pump.fun launch

  1. Prepare the wallet and budget. Use a Solana-compatible wallet funded for the creation transaction, curve purchases, network fees and the documented graduation charge. Keep launch funds separate from long-term holdings so an exposed signing session cannot drain unrelated assets.
  2. Review the token identity. Confirm the name, symbol, decimals, image and description before signing. Decide how the mint address will be published and how buyers can distinguish it from copycat tokens.
  3. Read the live fee preview. Check the creation transaction, the 1.25% curve fee and any displayed network or route costs. The fee page’s 0.015 SOL graduation figure is dated 2026-10-08 and should be treated as a current-documentation reference, not a permanent quote.
  4. Launch and record the mint address. Save the transaction signature and the exact mint address. Share the mint address through a channel you control; a ticker or logo is not an adequate identifier.
  5. Monitor the curve, not only the headline price. Watch reserve depth, recent trade size and failed transactions. Explain that a buyer’s execution price can differ from the displayed quote because the order moves the curve.
  6. Plan for automatic graduation. Once Pump.fun’s threshold is met, the curve closes and liquidity migrates atomically to PumpSwap. Update links and trading instructions to the new market without promising that the migration will increase the price.

Workflow for a Raydium LaunchLab launch

  1. Choose the quote mint and curve configuration. LaunchLab supports a quote mint, typically SOL or USDC, and documents configurable curve formulas and fee splits. Record the choices in the launch announcement.
  2. Estimate every cost category. Separate the approximately 0.1 SOL LaunchLab fee, approximately 0.015 SOL curve-account rent, pool creation, migration and network charges. The amounts in Raydium’s fee comparison are approximate and can change.
  3. Verify that no pre-seeded pool is required. LaunchLab’s curve handles initial trading; do not send funds to an unofficial address claiming to seed a Raydium pool on your behalf.
  4. Deploy and publish the mint. Save the transaction signature and mint address. Make the official launch page and the mint address the primary references for buyers.
  5. Monitor curve conditions and fee behavior. Check whether the selected formula produces the execution range you expected for small and large orders. Communicate the fee split and quote asset clearly.
  6. Prepare for CPMM migration. At the graduation threshold, the launch moves into a Raydium CPMM pool. Confirm the resulting pool address before directing traders there.

How to choose the right market when trading an existing token

Trading decisions should start with the token, not the platform logo. The same symbol can be copied many times, and a token can have more than one pool or route.

  1. Verify the mint address. Obtain it from the creator’s trusted channel or a reliable token record. Compare the full address character by character; never rely on a ticker, display name or search-result ranking.
  2. Determine whether the token is still on a curve. A Pump.fun token that has not graduated trades on its bonding curve. A graduated Pump.fun token should have a PumpSwap market. A LaunchLab token may still be on its LaunchLab curve or may have migrated to a Raydium CPMM pool.
  3. Identify the exact pool and route. Record the pool address, pair assets and any intermediary route shown by the swap interface. Do not assume that a token’s launch venue is the same as the best execution venue today.
  4. Compare liquidity with your order size. Estimate the pool or curve’s depth, then preview the transaction for the amount you actually intend to buy or sell. A route with a lower advertised fee can still be more expensive if its price impact is higher.
  5. Check all fees before signing. Include the platform or pool trading fee, route fee, network fee and any transfer or account cost displayed by the wallet. A 1.25% Pump.fun curve fee applies to the documented curve; it is not a universal fee for every market where the token may later trade.
  6. Set a defensible slippage limit. Use a limit that allows normal block-to-block movement but rejects an unexpectedly bad fill. If the transaction repeatedly fails, reduce the order size or wait for deeper liquidity rather than simply raising tolerance.
  7. Confirm the destination account. Inspect the wallet’s final transaction summary and ensure the token mint and receiving account are the ones you intended. Revoke or disconnect unnecessary applications after the trade.

Common failure modes and what to do

“The token is not where the announcement says it is”

Check whether the token has graduated and whether the announcement still points to a curve URL. Search by mint address, then identify the current PumpSwap or Raydium CPMM pool. Do not bridge funds or send tokens to an address supplied by an unverified account.

“My quoted price changed before confirmation”

That is normal in a fast curve or shallow pool. Recheck the order size, price impact and slippage limit. If the expected fill is no longer acceptable, cancel and recalculate instead of approving automatically.

“The token graduated, but selling is still difficult”

Graduation does not create demand. Inspect the post-graduation pool’s actual liquidity and recent volume. A thin PumpSwap or Raydium CPMM pool can produce severe impact even when the token’s displayed price looks high.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

“The launch cost is higher than the headline figure”

Separate launch fees from rent, migration, pool-creation and network costs. Raydium’s approximately 0.1 SOL LaunchLab figure and approximately 0.015 SOL rent figure are documentation references, while Pump.fun’s 0.015 SOL graduation charge is a dated fee-page entry. The live transaction preview is authoritative for the transaction you are about to sign.

“A copycat token has the same name and symbol”

Stop using the symbol as an identifier. Compare the mint address, creator announcement and pool address. If they do not match, treat the token as a different asset regardless of branding.

Manipulation and safety risks

Memecoin launch mechanics can make activity look more persuasive than it is. A September 2026 arXiv preprint, “Meme Coin Factories: Uncovering Large-Scale Manipulations on pump.fun”, reports patterns including coordinated selling, copycat coins and social manipulation around Pump.fun. The authors also state that they did not purchase or use the services they reviewed to validate the functionality they describe. Their findings should therefore be read as evidence of reported patterns, not as proof that every token, trader or service is manipulated.

  • Coordinated selling: Several wallets can sell into later buyers, leaving apparent momentum without durable demand.
  • Copycat identities: A familiar name or image can be reused with a different mint address.
  • Social pressure: Urgency, countdowns and claims of guaranteed returns are not substitutes for liquidity or contract verification.
  • Wallet exposure: A launch or swap requires signing transactions. Use a dedicated wallet, review every instruction and never disclose a seed phrase or private key.
  • Irreversible actions: Pump.fun graduation is documented as automatic and irreversible, so a creator cannot correct a mistaken destination after the threshold.

Neither platform’s launch mechanism is an audit. Check the token’s mint, distribution, creator controls, liquidity, trading restrictions and public disclosures independently. Only risk funds you can afford to lose.

What the broader market numbers do—and do not—tell you

CoinGecko’s 2025 State of Memecoins Report recorded average daily memecoin trading volume of $1.1 billion in 2023 and $9.7 billion in 2024, plus a total memecoin market capitalization of $150.6 billion in December 2024. These are sector-wide historical figures, not forecasts for a new launch and not evidence that a particular curve or pool will be liquid.

High aggregate volume can coexist with thousands of illiquid tokens. Use the market statistics to understand why launch venues attract attention, then make the venue decision with token-level data: current reserves, pool depth, order-size impact and verified mint.

Decision matrix

Your situation More coherent starting point Reason What to verify
You want Pump.fun’s standard launch experience and PumpSwap as the documented destination Pump.fun The curve and graduation path are integrated Live curve fee, graduation charge, reserve depth and PumpSwap migration status
You want a configurable curve, SOL or USDC as quote mint, and Raydium CPMM after graduation Raydium LaunchLab LaunchLab exposes those configuration choices and destination Curve formula, fee split, approximate launch and rent costs, and resulting pool details
You are trading a token already launched elsewhere Whichever current pool or curve offers the best verified execution Launch brand does not establish current liquidity Mint address, graduation state, pool depth, price impact and route fees
You cannot verify the mint or destination pool Do not trade yet Identity risk overwhelms any theoretical fee advantage Independent confirmation of the full mint and pool address

Final checklist before launching or trading

  • Have you written down the full token mint address?
  • Do you know whether the token is on a bonding curve or has graduated?
  • Have you identified PumpSwap or the Raydium CPMM pool that actually holds liquidity?
  • Did you separate platform fees, curve or pool fees, rent, migration charges and network costs?
  • Did you preview price impact for your intended order size rather than a small test amount?
  • Are your slippage limit and wallet balance appropriate for current volatility?
  • Have you checked the live official documentation and transaction preview instead of relying on an old guide?
  • Can you explain to buyers that graduation is not a guarantee of demand, safety or profit?

Bottom line: Select Pump.fun when its curve and PumpSwap destination match your launch plan; select Raydium LaunchLab when you need its configurable curve and Raydium CPMM endpoint. For trading, follow the verified mint and the token’s current liquidity—not the platform name—and price every fee and source of price impact before signing.
