“PS5 Pro Enhanced” means a game has improvements associated with the PS5 Pro, but it does not promise one resolution, frame rate, or visual feature for every title. Sony lists possible benefits such as advanced ray tracing, PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), and 60Hz or 120Hz output depending on the game and your television. To see the current supported titles, open PlayStation Store > Collections > PS5 Pro Enhanced on the console, or search the Store for “PS5 Pro.”
What the PS5 Pro Enhanced label actually tells you
The designation is a compatibility and feature signal: the publisher or developer has associated the game with enhancements for PlayStation 5 Pro. It is not a universal performance standard. Two games carrying the same label can target different resolutions, frame rates, ray-tracing settings, or reconstruction methods.

Sony’s November 2024 launch announcement described several kinds of improvement that developers could use:
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →- More advanced ray tracing effects.
- PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, Sony’s image-reconstruction technology.
- 60Hz or 120Hz frame-rate targets, depending on the title and the connected television.
Those are examples of possible enhancements, not a checklist that every labelled game must satisfy. The Store page for an individual game or information from its developer is the right place to determine what that particular title changes.

Does PS5 Pro Enhanced mean 8K?
No. PS5 Pro can support output of up to 8K in select games, according to Sony’s compatibility guide, but the designation does not mean that every enhanced game renders or outputs at 8K.
Think of 8K as a platform capability with conditions rather than a label requirement. A title must specifically support the mode, and your display and video connection must also be capable of using it. For most games, the meaningful difference may instead be improved image reconstruction, steadier performance, or more demanding ray-tracing effects on a compatible 4K television.
When you are checking a game, look for a title-specific statement about:
- Supported output resolution or a named resolution mode.
- Whether an 8K option is available at all.
- The target frame rate and whether a 120Hz display is required for the higher target.
- Ray-tracing features or a performance/quality mode choice.
- Use of PSSR or another image-reconstruction technique.
If the Store description only says “PS5 Pro Enhanced,” treat that as confirmation of association with the console’s enhancements, not as proof of 8K or a specific frame rate.
How to find the current PS5 Pro Enhanced collection
Use the collection on your PS5 Pro
- Open PlayStation Store from the console home screen.
- Switch to the Collections tab.
- Select the PS5 Pro Enhanced banner.
- Open a game’s product page to read its current description and any title-specific performance details.
This collection is Sony’s recommended discovery route. Because the Store is dynamic, it is more useful for current availability than an old launch list or a static article.
Search the Store when you know a game name
PlayStation support also directs users to search the Store for “PS5 Pro.” This is useful when you want to check one game or browse search results without opening Collections first. Confirm the designation on the game’s own product page rather than assuming that every result mentioning the words is an enhanced title.
Check the live Store category online
Sony also maintains a Store category titled “PS5 Pro Enhanced Games.” The category can change as games are added or presented differently by region and storefront. Use the live category for the current membership, and use each game page for the details that matter to your setup. A launch-era article or screenshot should not be treated as an exhaustive catalogue.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsWhat the label does not standardize
| Question | What the label establishes | What you must verify for the game |
|---|---|---|
| Resolution | The game is associated with PS5 Pro enhancements. | The actual resolution mode, reconstruction method, and whether an 8K mode exists. |
| Frame rate | Nothing universal; Sony describes 60Hz and 120Hz as possible targets. | The target or selectable modes and the display refresh rate required. |
| Ray tracing | Advanced ray tracing is one possible PS5 Pro benefit. | Which effects are enabled and in which mode. |
| Image reconstruction | PSSR is one possible enhancement. | Whether the title uses PSSR and how it is applied in its modes. |
| 8K | PS5 Pro supports up to 8K in select games. | Whether this specific game supports 8K and what equipment is required. |
This is why a comparison between two supported games should use their individual Store descriptions or developer notes, not the shared badge alone.
Launch examples versus the current catalogue
In a November 4, 2024 PlayStation.Blog announcement for the November 7 launch, Sony Interactive Entertainment described a sample of more than 50 games with PS5 Pro enhancements. The named examples included Alan Wake 2, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.

“This list is a sample of more than 50 games boasting PS5 Pro enhancements at launch, with many more to follow.”
The wording matters. “More than 50” described a launch sample, not a permanent or complete count. It should not be used as the number of games currently in the Store collection. For a current answer, consult the console collection or the live Store category.
How to read a supported game’s Store page
Once you open a title in the collection, separate the general badge from the details that affect your decision.
Start with the mode choices
Some games present a quality-oriented mode, a performance-oriented mode, or several variations. Record the resolution and frame-rate target for each mode exactly as the game describes it. Do not translate a phrase such as “enhanced visuals” into a numerical resolution unless the page supplies one.
Check the display requirement
A 120Hz target is relevant only if the connected display and the rest of the video path can accept it. A game may offer a 60Hz mode that works with a broader range of televisions and a separate 120Hz option for compatible displays. The PS5 Pro label itself does not tell you which mode your television can use.
Look for ray-tracing and reconstruction notes
Ray-tracing improvements can be listed separately from resolution or frame rate. Likewise, a page may identify PSSR or another reconstruction technique. These notes explain the type of change, but they still do not make every other mode or output setting identical across games.
Confirm the edition and platform
Make sure you are reading the PS5 version of the game and the edition you intend to play. The enhancement designation is about the supported PS5 Pro experience; it is not a statement that every related PS4 version receives the same treatment.
How to compare two enhanced games without overreading the badge
Use the same questions for both games and write down the answers from their current Store descriptions or developer information.
- Resolution: What resolution or range does each mode state?
- Frame rate: Is the target 30, 60, 120, or another value, and is it selectable?
- Display: Does the higher mode require a 120Hz television or another capability?
- Ray tracing: Which effects are added or increased, and are they tied to a quality mode?
- Reconstruction: Does the description name PSSR or another image-reconstruction method?
- Trade-off: Does choosing one mode reduce another feature, such as resolution for a higher frame rate?
This method produces a meaningful comparison while avoiding the unsupported assumption that “Enhanced” means the same thing in every game.

Keep the PS4 image-quality setting separate
PS5 Pro has a different feature called Enhance Image Quality for PS4 Games. It is a console setting for compatible PS4 games, not the Store collection used to find PS5 Pro Enhanced titles.
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
Where to find it
- Open Settings.
- Select Screen and Video.
- Choose Video Output.
- Find Enhance Image Quality for PS4 Games and adjust it there.
Requirements and limits
- The option is available only for PS4 games played on consoles in the CFI-7000 model group.
- Your display must support 2160p or 1440p output at 60Hz.
- Sony advises turning the setting off if you encounter unexpected gameplay behavior.
Changing this setting will not add a game to the PS5 Pro Enhanced Store collection, and seeing a game in that collection does not tell you whether this PS4 image-quality option applies.
Practical troubleshooting when an enhancement is not visible
The game is labelled but looks unchanged
Open the game’s current Store description and inspect its modes. The label may correspond to a particular mode, display requirement, or visual feature rather than an across-the-board change. Check that the PS5 Pro is connected to the display you intend to use and that you have selected the game’s relevant option.
You expected 8K output
Confirm that the title specifically advertises an 8K mode. Sony’s “up to 8K” statement applies only to select games, so the general badge cannot establish that capability.
A 120Hz option is unavailable
Verify that your television supports the required refresh rate and that the complete video connection is configured for it. Sony describes 60Hz and 120Hz as possibilities that depend on the TV; the badge alone cannot override a display limitation.

The title is missing from a list you saw elsewhere
Use the console’s PS5 Pro Enhanced collection or search the Store for “PS5 Pro.” Lists published around the November 2024 launch were samples and can become outdated as the Store changes.
A quick checklist before you buy or replay a title
- Find the game through PlayStation Store > Collections > PS5 Pro Enhanced or a Store search for “PS5 Pro.”
- Read the game’s own page instead of inferring specifications from the badge.
- Note the stated resolution, frame-rate targets, ray-tracing changes, and reconstruction technology.
- Check whether a preferred mode requires a 120Hz display.
- Treat 8K as a title-specific option for select games, not a standard feature of the label.
- Use the separate PS4 image-quality setting only for eligible PS4 games and displays.
- Prefer the live Store collection over a dated launch count when checking what is supported now.
The bottom line on PS5 Pro Enhanced games
“PS5 Pro Enhanced” is useful shorthand for “this game has PS5 Pro-related improvements,” not a promise of identical hardware results. Sony’s possible enhancements include ray tracing, PSSR, and higher refresh-rate targets; the exact outcome belongs to each game and your display. Find the current set in PlayStation Store > Collections > PS5 Pro Enhanced, then verify the title-specific modes before assuming 8K, 120Hz, or any particular visual upgrade.
