There are no verified “best settings” for Prospera yet. The game is still listed as unavailable, and its official Steam page does not publish individual graphics options, benchmark scenes, or measured FPS results. The only current targets are 1080p at 30 FPS on Low settings and 1080p at 60 FPS on High settings. Treat those figures as preliminary store guidance, not performance guarantees.
Prospera is planned for Q2 2027, so the most useful advice today is a compatibility framework: match your hardware with the published baselines, understand what the figures do and do not prove, and avoid pretending that unannounced sliders have known performance costs. Revisit this guide when the game becomes playable or Active Fungus Studios publishes a settings breakdown.
What is known about Prospera’s performance targets
Prospera is a first- and third-person city builder set in the Victorian era. Active Fungus Studios is developing it and Toplitz Productions is publishing it. The official description combines survival, crafting, strategy and management, with citizens whose needs, supplies and satisfaction influence city growth and stability. It also highlights production chains, logistics and railway networks.

Those systems suggest that different situations may place different demands on a computer, but no published test proves which activity, city size or scene is the limiting factor. The store page does not identify a benchmark location, camera position, city population, frame-time target or test methodology.

These are the developer and publisher’s store-listed system targets as shown on the Steam page accessed in 2026. They are not independent benchmark measurements. The page does not say whether either result is an average FPS, a minimum, a locked frame rate or a frame-time consistency threshold.
Important qualification about the GPU names
The listing currently spells the graphics cards “NVIDIA GeForce GTX 2060” and “NVIDIA GeForce GTX 4060 Ti.” Preserve those names when checking the page, but do not silently correct them or buy hardware on the assumption that they are typo-free product specifications. Ask the developer for clarification or wait for an updated requirements page before treating the GPU entries as a purchasing recommendation.
Can your PC run Prospera at 1080p?
Use the table as a comparison point, not a pass/fail test. A computer that matches the minimum row is being associated with 30 FPS on Low at 1080p; it is not promised 30 FPS in every city, camera view or late-game situation. A computer that matches the recommended row is being associated with 60 FPS on High at 1080p; it is not guaranteed to hold that rate everywhere.

Check these specifications
- Confirm whether Windows is 10 or 11, and whether it is the 64-bit edition.
- Identify the exact processor model rather than relying on a family name such as “Core i7.”
- Check installed system memory. The listing specifies 16 GB for both targets.
- Record the exact graphics-card model and its driver support for DirectX 12.
- Ensure at least 25 GB of free storage, while allowing additional room for updates and the operating system.
If your machine falls between the two rows, the listing provides no evidence for a precise prediction. The same is true if your processor, GPU or operating system differs substantially from the listed parts. Avoid converting the table into a claim that one unlisted component is automatically sufficient.
Why a definitive “best settings” list does not exist yet
The Steam page does not document individual controls such as texture quality, shadows, foliage, effects, crowd density, view distance, resolution scaling or frame caps. It also does not state which options affect CPU time, GPU time, memory use or image quality.
Without those controls and a repeatable test scene, assigning a setting to a specific FPS gain would be guesswork. For example, it would be unsupported to claim that lowering shadows improves Prospera by a certain number of frames, that a particular upscaler is available, or that railway networks create a measured CPU bottleneck. Generic optimization advice from other games cannot be presented as tested Prospera advice.

How to establish a reliable baseline when Prospera becomes playable
Once an executable and graphics menu are available, use a repeatable process rather than changing every option at once. The following workflow is a measurement method, not a claim that any particular Prospera setting has a known benefit today.

- Record the environment. Write down the CPU, GPU, RAM, Windows edition, graphics driver, display resolution and refresh rate. Note whether the game is installed on a drive with at least the required free space.
- Choose one repeatable scene. Use the same save, camera position and time of day for each comparison. If the game has no built-in benchmark, record a fixed route or observation period and use it consistently.
- Start with the published target. For a minimum-class system, begin at 1080p and Low. For a recommended-class system, begin at 1080p and High. These are the only official preset starting points currently documented.
- Measure more than an average. Record average FPS and, if your monitoring software supports it, 1% low or frame-time data. A high average can still feel uneven if frame times spike.
- Change one control at a time. Keep resolution, camera position and scene constant. After each change, record performance and inspect a busy area for visible quality loss.
- Keep a rollback note. Save the original value before testing. If an option causes shimmering, pop-in, blur or a large frame-time increase, restore the previous value rather than stacking unmeasured changes.
- Repeat in more than one situation. A quiet settlement and a large, active city may behave differently. Do not describe one short test as the game’s universal performance.
Preserving image quality while looking for more FPS
Until Prospera’s menu and official documentation are available, there is no evidence-backed order in which its individual sliders should be reduced. The safest quality-first principle is to identify the control that produces a measurable change on your hardware, then stop as soon as the target frame rate is reached.

Understanding frame-rate targets and frame pacing
Thirty FPS and 60 FPS describe different experiences. At 30 FPS, each displayed frame has roughly twice the interval of a 60 FPS frame, so camera movement can appear less fluid even when delivery is consistent. At 60 FPS, consistency still matters: brief stalls or uneven frame times can feel worse than a stable lower rate.
The store page does not state whether Prospera will include an in-game limiter, variable-refresh support, a borderless mode or a frame-time graph. Do not assume those features exist until the release build or official documentation confirms them. If the game offers a limiter, compare a stable cap with uncapped output using the same scene; do not report a preferred cap without measuring the result on your display and hardware.
General troubleshooting that is not Prospera-specific
Before attributing poor performance to an undocumented game setting, eliminate basic system variables. These checks do not establish how Prospera itself is optimized, but they can prevent unrelated problems from confusing your comparison.

- Close overlays, recording tools and background applications one at a time to identify conflicts.
- Check that the monitor is connected to the discrete GPU rather than an integrated graphics output, where applicable.
- Watch CPU, GPU, memory and storage utilization during the same repeatable scene.
- Check temperatures and clock speeds for sustained throttling under load.
- Verify the game files if the platform provides that option, especially after an interrupted update.
- Restore default graphics settings after a driver change before beginning a new comparison.
If performance changes dramatically between launches, capture the game version, driver version, resolution and scene. That information is more useful for a developer report than a statement that the game is simply “laggy.”
What not to buy or change based on the current listing
The available information does not support recommending a specific GPU, system builder, accessory or upgrade. The questionable GPU naming, lack of benchmarks and future release status make a purchase based solely on the table premature. Do not treat the 25 GB storage figure as a complete installation forecast; updates and operating-system overhead require additional space.
Likewise, do not assume that increasing RAM beyond the listed 16 GB, replacing a processor or changing storage will produce a known FPS gain. Those decisions require final requirements and measurements that are not available yet.

When this guide should be updated
Recheck the live Steam listing and official developer communications when any of the following happens:
- Prospera enters a playable test or releases publicly.
- The graphics menu is shown and names its individual options.
- Active Fungus Studios publishes optimization notes or benchmark guidance.
- The GPU labels, operating-system requirements or target resolutions change.
- The planned Q2 2027 release window approaches or passes.
An updated version should replace broad assumptions with measured comparisons that identify hardware, resolution, preset, scene, average FPS, frame-time behavior and visible image-quality changes.
Bottom line for Prospera players today
There is no responsible, Prospera-specific slider recipe to publish yet. Use 1080p Low at 30 FPS and 1080p High at 60 FPS only as the current store-listed targets, compare your PC with the listed Windows, CPU, RAM, DirectX 12 and storage requirements, and treat the GPU names as needing clarification. Once the game is available, test one setting at a time in repeatable scenes so any FPS improvement can be weighed against an observed loss in visual quality.
