ZONOS2 is Zyphra’s open-source, real-time text-to-speech model for developers and organizations building speech applications. It combines zero-shot voice cloning from reference audio with multilingual and code-switched generation across 34 languages. The model is available through Zyphra Cloud’s playground and API, or for self-hosting on Linux. It is a strong fit for teams that want programmatic speech generation, control over inference deployment, and commercial use.
Its main technical draw is the balance between voice cloning and generation controls. ZONOS2 offers stable and expressive modes, target speaking-rate and audio-quality controls, and output at 44.1 kHz. It also uses a sparse mixture-of-experts transformer architecture and provides a self-hosted TTS inference server. Audio can be exported as WAV or PCM, while real-time generation supports applications that need responsive speech output. The published category specifications list a maximum input size of 600 characters.
Pricing is straightforward in the published plan structure. The ZONOS2 API plan is hosted through Zyphra Cloud API and costs $20 per 1M UTF-8 bytes. There is no free plan listed. Developers who prefer a managed endpoint can use the OpenAI-compatible API through Zyphra Cloud, while teams that need deployment control can use the self-hosted option instead. ZONOS2 suits developers building speech products around cloning, multilingual output, and API workflows. It is less suitable for buyers seeking a free tier or a broader packaged application with multiple listed plans and usage options.
