Zoho Writer is a cloud-based word processor for individuals, authors, business professionals, and teams. It covers document creation, formatting, layout design, DOCX editing, comments, track changes, real-time co-authoring, and AI-assisted writing through Zia. Its broad platform coverage also suits organizations that work across web, Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android, and Chrome.

The Free Edition is free for individual users and organizations and provides unrestricted access to Writer features. It includes 200 free document-automation credits per month per organization. The Paid Edition is available for businesses through Zoho WorkDrive and includes 1,000 free document-automation credits per month per organization. Offline editing with automatic synchronization, DOCX import and export, and desktop applications make Writer suitable for users who move between connected and offline work.

Writer is particularly well suited to teams that need more than basic page editing. Document automation supports merges, fillable forms, and e-signature workflows, with connections to Zoho Sign, DocuSign, Adobe Sign, and Signeasy. Publishing options extend to the web and WordPress, while integrations include Zoho CRM, Zoho Projects, WordPress, Medium, Zotero, and Mermaid Chart. The product also supports citation and bibliography generation. Choose Zoho Writer for a free, cross-platform editor with collaboration and workflow features; consider another word processor if your work depends on larger imported DOCX files or automation without separate credit management.
