ZD Screen Recorder is a Windows desktop application for capturing a full display, application window, selected region, webcam video, microphone input, system audio and game content. It is aimed at tutorial creators, educators, gamers, support teams and remote teams that need local recordings, presentations or live streams. Its feature set also covers live drawing, cursor emphasis and zoom, giving instructional and support content more visual context than a basic screen capture utility.

The pricing model is centered on one-time lifetime licenses rather than a subscription. The Trial plan allows non-commercial use and adds a watermark to output. The 1 PC plan costs $39 one time and includes a lifetime license for one computer, watermark-free output and free technical support. The 2 PCs plan costs $78, while the 5 PCs plan costs $195; both include lifetime licenses, watermark-free output and free technical support. Larger licenses are available for 10 PCs at $390, 20 PCs at $780, 50 PCs at $1,950 and 100 PCs at $3,900. A 15-day free trial is available before purchase.

Its clearest advantage is recording depth for Windows workflows. Scheduled and long-running recordings can extend to 48+ hours, while combined system-audio and microphone capture, webcam recording, game optimization and local video output cover varied production needs. Live streaming and presentations broaden its use beyond saved clips. The trade-off is platform and ecosystem fit: the product is distributed as a Windows installer, and no integrations are listed. Windows users who need long scheduled captures, annotations or game recording should find the feature mix well aligned; teams needing macOS support or connected integrations should choose an alternative.
