YiCAT is an online translation management platform for translation teams, localization departments and educational institutions. It combines collaborative translation and review workflows with project management, task assignment, multi-format document processing, translation memories and terminology management. Teams can create, import, edit and merge translation memories, while repetition locking and translation-memory matching help organize repeated content. Its web and API access also suit organizations that need shared project workflows or integration with translation systems.
The plan structure ranges from Team Free to Team and Enterprise editions. Team Free includes two default translators, a 5 MB maximum file size, a 5,000-word upload limit per file and two files per project. Team Enhanced raises those limits to 20 MB, 50,000 words per file and ten files per project, while adding translation memories and termbases. Enterprise Basic and Enterprise Advanced support 100 or 200 files per project respectively, with 100 MB or 200 MB maximum file sizes and 200,000-word upload limits per file. Enterprise Flagship adds 300 files per project, 24/7 technical support and single sign-on.
YiCAT stands out for its choice of connected translation engines, including Google Translate, Baidu Translate, Alibaba Translate, Youdao Translate, NiuTrans, Microsoft Bing Translate, AWS, DeepL, Yandex, DeepSeek, GPT-3.5 Turbo and GPT-4o. The open REST API supports translation projects and files, extending the platform beyond manual document work. YiCAT is a strong fit for teams that need collaboration, reusable language assets and engine flexibility. Smaller projects may find the Team Free file and word caps restrictive, while organizations needing desktop-centered workflows or broader support coverage should assess alternatives.
