Yenka Physics review
A broad offline physics authoring tool for Windows classrooms.

Yenka Physics is a downloadable desktop simulator for schools and classroom instruction. It supports investigations across wave propagation, optics, force and motion, electricity, magnetism and circuit behaviour. Learners can adjust physical parameters, manipulate simulated components and graph quantities such as velocity, momentum, kinetic energy, potential energy, acceleration, voltage and current. Editable models, Play Content and Add Objects modes also support teachers or authors creating and modifying interactive activities.
Its broad subject coverage is the main reason to consider it. Wave models include reflection, refraction, diffraction and interference, while optics activities cover lenses, prisms, mirrors and ray diagrams. Mechanics models use balls, blocks, carts, rods and springs, with adjustable mass, elasticity, friction, dimensions, velocity and driving force. Electricity and magnetism content extends from power generation and transmission to circuit drawing and simulation. This makes Yenka Physics a fit for programs that want one environment spanning several physics units rather than a tool focused on one topic.
The delivery model favors schools that need local, offline access and editable desktop content. Yenka runs on Windows, provides three-dimensional visuals, and uses local content without requiring an internet connection. The vendor directs buyers to contact sales for current pricing, so procurement requires a sales conversation rather than a published plan comparison. Yenka servers were switched off in 2022, although the downloadable software and local content remain available. Choose it for offline Windows-based physics authoring and exploration; consider an alternative if browser access, broader platform support or active online services are central requirements.
