A free personal email service with aliases, filtering and calendar registration.

Yahoo! JAPAN Mail is a consumer email service from LINE Yahoo Corporation for Yahoo! JAPAN ID users, primarily intended for personal users in Japan. Its free plan provides 10 GB of mailbox storage and access on the web and through official iOS and Android apps. Message search, folders, automatic filtering and spam protections cover everyday inbox organization, while safety addresses and additional @ymail.ne.jp addresses give users options for creating extra addresses. It suits people looking for a Japanese personal email account rather than a business mailbox.
Alias support is a useful part of the service’s everyday feature set: safety addresses and @ymail.ne.jp additional addresses complement standard message organization and spam filtering. The service also restricts access from overseas connections and can automatically register calendar entries from received reservation messages. Integrations include Gmail, Docomo Mail, au Mail and SoftBank Mail. Those features make Yahoo! JAPAN Mail a reasonable fit for users managing personal correspondence alongside these mail services, particularly if reservation messages are part of their inbox routine.
The Free plan includes web and mobile access and 10 GB storage. The Virus Check Service is a paid add-on that provides server-side virus detection and removal and removes advertising from the Yahoo! Mail interface; it automatically renews monthly. LYP Premium plans can increase storage to unlimited for eligible users. Yahoo! JAPAN Mail is a practical choice for someone seeking free Japanese email with aliases and built-in organization tools. Users who need a custom-domain address should look elsewhere: the My Name Address custom-domain service ended on September 15, 2026.
