Wirify review
A focused free tool for turning existing web pages into simplified wireframes.
Reviewed by iTechGuides Editors · Editorial team · Updated Oct 2026
Wirify is a browser-based bookmarklet for converting existing web pages into simplified wireframes. It is aimed at people analyzing layouts for learning, teaching, and early website redesign work, especially when the starting point is an accessible live page rather than a blank canvas. By hiding visual detail and content, it presents page structure in a form that is easier to inspect and discuss.
The core workflow is focused and practical. A one-click conversion turns a page into a wireframe, while hovering over elements helps identify related HTML elements. Users can greek pages with lorem ipsum text, redact content using a script font, and return from the wireframe to the original page. The workflow runs on the web and uses a bookmarklet for browser installation, making its scope clear: it is designed for quick inspection and simplification rather than a full project workspace.
Wirify is free, and the current offering centers on that free workflow. Export formats listed for the product include Microsoft Visio, OmniGraffle, Balsamiq Mockups, and SVG. Wirify Pro previously added editing and export capabilities, but the vendor states that Wirify Pro is no longer available. Choose Wirify when the priority is rapidly translating an existing page into a structural reference. Choose another wireframing product when the work requires verified collaboration, interactive prototypes, or a broader creation and editing environment.
