A focused, open-source Cypress plugin for page-level WCAG 2.2 checks.

wick-a11y is an open-source Cypress plugin for automated accessibility testing of rendered web pages. It adds the cy.checkAccessibility() command and uses axe-core with cypress-axe to evaluate WCAG 2.2 rules from A through AAA. Cypress teams can configure severity, rules, guidelines, and warning behavior, making it suited to development workflows where accessibility checks need to run alongside browser tests.
The strongest part of the product is its result presentation. Violations can appear in Cypress logs and the browser console, while affected DOM elements are visually highlighted in the Cypress runner. Severity-based HTML reports add screenshots, violation details, and remediation guidance, and terminal reports provide tabular output. Optional voice feedback gives teams another way to receive accessibility results. Together, these outputs support both quick debugging during development and more detailed review after a run.
Its focus is also its main boundary. The published positioning centers on page-level checks inside Cypress, so wick-a11y fits teams that already work in that ecosystem and want configurable WCAG testing during development. It is distributed as an MIT-licensed npm package and is used as a Cypress development dependency, rather than as a broad monitoring product. Choose wick-a11y when Cypress integration, adjustable rules, and actionable reports matter most. Consider a different category of tool when the requirement is wider accessibility monitoring beyond rendered page checks and Cypress workflows.
