vTuber Kit review
A free 2D VTubing tool with broad customization and Windows-focused tracking.

vTuber Kit is a free desktop VTubing tool for aspiring streamers who want to create and stream with a customizable 2D avatar. It supports webcam facial tracking, microphone input for tracking, character-part customization, custom item creation and attachment, Twitch interactions, OBS game capture with transparency, and virtual camera capture. Models can be imported and exported in .owo format, giving creators a way to move their character files within the product’s workflow.
The published offering is straightforward: vTuber Kit is free, with no paid tiers described. Downloads are available for Windows, macOS, and Linux, while Twitch and OBS provide its main streaming connections. Twitch channel-point, chat, subscription, and bits interactions can connect audience activity to the avatar experience, and OBS transparency capture supports use alongside game or stream content. The product page identifies Windows as the intended and tested platform, so platform choice matters during setup.
Customization is the main draw for creators who want a basic 2D avatar without a paid plan. Users can adjust colors, clothing, hair, and accessories, then create and attach custom items. The trade-off is a narrower tracking scope: body tracking is not included, and webcam face tracking works only on Windows. The creator states that the macOS and Linux versions are untested, and the project remains in development. Choose vTuber Kit for free 2D Twitch interaction and avatar customization, especially on Windows; choose an alternative if macOS or Linux facial tracking or broader tracking capabilities are essential.
