VMagicMirror review
A capable free VRM controller for creators who want broad input support on Windows.

VMagicMirror is Windows desktop software for operating 3D VRM avatars through local VRM files or VRoid Hub. It is aimed at VTuber streaming, web meetings, presentations, desktop mascots, and other avatar-based uses. Input options cover keyboard, mouse, gamepad, MIDI controller, microphone, webcam, and external tracking, giving creators several ways to control movement, expressions, and lip-sync without specialized devices.
The free Standard Edition provides most features, including microphone-based lip-sync, webcam face tracking, webcam hand and finger tracking, facial expression controls, transparent avatar windows, and Spout image output. Its hand-tracking workflow includes a visual effect. The paid Full Edition removes that effect and includes future updates after purchase. This makes Standard a practical starting point, while Full is suited to users who want the complete hand-tracking presentation and continued updates.
VMagicMirror stands out for input breadth and ecosystem fit. It supports VMC Protocol pose and facial data, external iOS face tracking and Perfect Sync, iFacialMocap, XInput gamepads, MIDI controllers, VRoid Hub, and OBS Studio. The trade-off is a focused Windows-only workflow with no listed body tracking or virtual camera support. Choose it if free VRM control, hand tracking, lip-sync, and varied controller inputs matter most; consider another tool if cross-platform support, body tracking, or virtual-camera features are central requirements.
