VKS is a browser-based platform for manufacturing teams that create, manage, and deliver digital work instructions, standard operating procedures, checklists, and production guidance. Its visual content supports images, videos, PDFs, annotations, conditional steps, alerts, and decision guidance. QR codes, barcodes, RFID, and part numbers can provide access to relevant instructions, while forms, signatures, checklists, and production data capture extend the platform beyond document delivery. Manufacturing organizations focused on standardized operator guidance and connected production workflows are the clearest fit.
The tier structure adds control and measurement as requirements grow. Lite includes digital work instructions, version control, approval processes, templates, mass updates, notifications, and alerts. Pro adds smart forms, user signatures, a rule engine, productivity monitoring, and reports. Enterprise adds API connectivity, access control, single sign-on, Active Directory/LDAP, and audit logs. A 30-day trial is available, while subscription pricing is handled through contact sales. Teams should choose VKS if approval workflows, change history, completion tracking, competency and certification tracking, or production data capture are central requirements.
Integration breadth is a major consideration for manufacturing environments. VKS lists connections with systems including SAP, Oracle, Epicor, Infor, PTC, Plex, Microsoft Dynamics 365, IBM Maximo, NetSuite, Power BI, Tableau, Excel, Okta, and Machine Metrics. It can be delivered as vendor-hosted SaaS or through customer-hosted infrastructure, including on-premises, Azure, and AWS deployments. AI-powered multilingual authoring and translation may support teams operating across languages. However, organizations requiring a native desktop or mobile access model, public subscription pricing, or a free plan should look elsewhere.
