Viz CaptureCast review
A centralized appliance for multi-input classroom capture, streaming, and publishing.

Viz CaptureCast is a centralized network-based appliance for capturing, composing, streaming, and publishing classroom, meeting-room, and event video. It is designed for universities, enterprises, government organizations, and production teams managing multi-room recording and live or on-demand delivery. Its feature set covers multi-input capture, scheduled recording, presentation extraction, slide and text recognition, speech-to-text metadata processing, searchable transcripts, and scene-change detection with OCR.
Its strongest fit is for teams that need centralized control across varied video workflows. The web-based Command Center manages capture and scheduled events, while the system can record and stream one or multiple inputs at the same time. Support for up to six concurrent NDI inputs gives production teams a defined multi-camera workflow. Live delivery connects with Panopto, Kaltura, Opencast, YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook Live, and other destinations, while integrations with Akamai, Google Drive, Dropbox, FTP/SFTP, and AWS Services extend publishing and storage options.
According to the vendor's pricing approach, Viz CaptureCast uses contact-sales licensing rather than a free plan or public price amount. The on-premise deployment model suits organizations that want a centralized appliance, but it is less suitable for teams seeking a free, cloud-first lecture capture service. Teams needing multi-input recording, scheduled events, presentation extraction, and broad streaming distribution should consider Viz CaptureCast. Teams requiring more than six concurrent NDI inputs, or preferring a different deployment or purchasing model, should evaluate alternatives.
