VideoStitch Studio review
A focused, free toolkit for stitching, correcting, stabilizing, and rendering 360° footage.

VideoStitch Studio is desktop post-production software for creating immersive 360° VR video. It is aimed at creators and production teams working with multiple camera feeds who need to synchronize, calibrate, correct, stabilize, preview, and render spherical footage. The software imports video files and produces equirectangular 360°×180° output, making it a focused choice for stitching-based workflows rather than a general video editor.
Its feature set covers the core technical stages of 360 production. Synchronization can be automatic through audio, motion, or flash, or performed manually. Camera calibration is available in automatic and manual modes, while exposure, white balance, vignetting, and camera-response correction address common multi-camera differences. Stabilization and orientation adjustment are included, alongside real-time output and an interactive perspective preview. Batch stitching supports multiple projects, and exports include MP4, MOV, JPEG, PNG, and TIFF with codec options such as ProRes, H.264, MPEG-2, and Motion JPEG.
The platform fit is broad for desktop software: downloadable builds are available for Windows and macOS, and the project can be built on Linux. PTGui and Hugin template import can help incorporate existing stitching setups. VideoStitch Studio is open source under the MIT License and available at no cost, according to the project description. Choose it if you want a focused, open-source toolkit covering stitching through final rendering across major desktop platforms. It is less suited to buyers seeking a wider editing suite or a packaged Linux installation, since Linux use can involve compiling the project from source.
