Vendure review
A flexible open-source foundation for developers building custom commerce experiences.

Vendure is a headless ecommerce platform for businesses with complex B2B and B2C requirements. It gives developers APIs and commerce capabilities for catalogs, variants, collections, promotions, carts, checkout, orders, customer accounts, search, inventory, payments, tax configuration, and fulfillment. The open-source Vendure Core is available under GPLv3, while deployments can run on customer-controlled infrastructure or through Vendure Cloud. It is best suited to teams building custom storefronts and multichannel commerce experiences rather than businesses seeking a tightly packaged, low-configuration store builder.
Its strongest fit is complex commerce modeling. Channels can have their own catalogs, pricing, and inventory, while B2B features cover company accounts, roles, quotes, approvals, customer-specific pricing, and repeat ordering. Inventory tracking spans stock locations, and payment, tax, shipping, and fulfillment workflows are configurable. The plugin system provides a route for custom functionality and integrations with ERP, PIM, CRM, OMS, WMS, payment, tax, and fulfillment systems. That breadth makes Vendure appropriate when a commerce stack needs to connect with an existing business ecosystem.
The pricing structure reflects the product's deployment choices. Vendure Core provides the open-source framework, Vendure Platform is a commercial ecommerce platform quoted per project, and Vendure Cloud provides managed runtime services with pricing that scales according to environments and resources. Cloud can include managed deployments, databases, backups, recovery, and scaling. Teams choosing self-hosting take responsibility for their infrastructure, while Cloud reduces that operational scope. Digital products are supported through an example plugin, so teams focused on that model should assess the required implementation. Vendure is a strong choice for developers needing control and extensibility; teams wanting fixed public pricing or a turnkey setup may prefer another platform.
