Vectric Aspire is Windows-based design and CNC machining software for sign makers, CNC routing and engraving businesses, woodworkers, fabricators, and other users producing dimensional or carved parts. It brings 2D vector drawing, advanced text creation, 3D relief modeling, imported design data, toolpath calculation, simulation, and CNC post-processing into one application. Its strongest fit is a shop producing dimensional lettering, relief signs, engraved work, or carved components rather than primarily flat vinyl graphics.

The feature depth is centered on CNC production. Aspire supports TrueType, OpenType, and single-stroke engraving fonts, along with 2D, V-carving, engraving, and 3D toolpaths. Raised prism machining addresses dimensional sign lettering, while toolpath preview and 3D simulation provide a way to review machining operations before saving output. CNC post-processors create machine-specific toolpath files, and the drag-knife toolpath gadget supports knife cutting on a CNC machine. Together, these tools make Aspire particularly relevant where lettering and ornamentation need to move from design into routed, engraved, or relief-machined output.

The published plan is a paid Aspire edition with a buy-once, own-it-forever model. Minor updates remain free within the same major version, and a free trial is available. The software supports Windows 7, 8/8.1, 10, or 11, so platform choice is an important consideration for a shop standardizing on another operating system. Aspire is a strong choice for CNC and dimensional lettering specialists who need integrated modeling and machining workflows. Shops focused mainly on vinyl cutting, vehicle graphics, or broader sign-production workflows should look for a more narrowly tailored alternative.

  • Where it doesn't
    • Windows-based software only
