Vectorworks Architect is desktop architectural BIM software for architects and design professionals. It covers conceptual, schematic, and detailed architectural design, with parametric BIM objects for walls, doors, and windows. Construction documentation includes automated drawing updates, material quantity takeoffs, schedules, reporting, and data-rich building objects. The product also supports 3D visualization, AR, and VR presentation workflows, making it suitable for practices that want design and documentation in one architectural platform.

Its strongest fit is a practice working across varied project stages and consultant workflows. IFC import and export support openBIM exchanges, while integrations include Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, Photoshop, Cinema 4D, Solibri, Bluebeam, Revizto, BIMCollab, Dropbox, Google Drive, and Microsoft OneDrive. Cloud document sharing and processing support distributed collaboration, and the product runs on Windows and macOS with companion web, iOS, and Android services. This combination gives teams several ways to coordinate, share, review, and present project information.

The paid plans are Monthly and Annual. Both include unlimited Vectorworks University courses; Monthly includes 10% off online training, while Annual includes 15% off online training. The main limitation is that automated clash detection is documented through Solibri Office rather than as a native Architect-only capability. Mobile access centers on document review, markup, and reality capture rather than full desktop authoring. Choose Vectorworks Architect if your practice values broad architectural BIM coverage, openBIM coordination, visualization, and multi-platform review. Choose another tool if native clash detection or full mobile production is central to your workflow.

    • Mobile access is focused on document review, markup, and reality capture.
