UserBob is a usage-based remote usability-testing service for teams evaluating websites, mobile websites, Android apps, and iOS apps. Customers define a scenario, task, participant demographics, test duration, and participant count, while recruited users record their screens and voices during the session. The service is suited to product, design, and research teams that need recorded feedback from unmoderated first-impression or task-completion studies without committing to a monthly subscription.
Its one-time pricing is organized around specific study types. Web First Impressions costs $24 for 20 user videos of one minute each, while Web Task Completion costs $30 for five five-minute videos. Mobile Web First Impressions costs $19.80 for nine one-minute videos, and Mobile Web Task Completion costs $35 for five five-minute videos. Android First Impressions costs $39.60 for nine two-minute videos and includes app installation; Android Task Completion costs $40 for five five-minute videos. Web Custom and Mobile Web Custom add custom demographics, scenarios, and tasks, although their prices are not fixed. This structure fits teams that want a defined, one-off package and a clear test objective.
UserBob also supports screen and voice recordings, video rating, video replacement or account credit, and a REST API for creating and managing tests. Amazon Mechanical Turk supports participant recruitment. The service covers several testing targets, but its focus remains unmoderated recorded studies: moderated sessions are not included, and prototype support is not part of the positioning. Teams needing first impressions, specified task completion, or custom participant criteria should find the narrow package model practical. Teams that require live interviews, moderated research, or prototype testing should choose a different usability-testing service.
