Upvora is open-source customer-feedback, feature-voting and product-roadmap software for teams that want to run the system on their own infrastructure. Public boards support one-click voting, while product-specific portals let organizations manage multiple products from one place. A public roadmap uses customizable status lanes, and private ideas plus internal comments support work that should stay within the team. Its fit spans small, mid-market and enterprise organizations that value deployment control and configurable workflows.

The product’s prioritization features are more detailed than a basic upvote board. Teams can create scorecards with weighted criteria, giving evaluation a defined structure instead of relying only on vote totals. Similar-idea detection runs during submission, helping direct related requests together. Moderation and approval workflows are configurable, and private ideas provide a separate path for internal requests. Optional Vora AI adds idea interviews and briefs through a provider chosen by the operator, making the AI layer adaptable but dependent on that setup.

Upvora connects to SMTP, Mailgun, Amazon SES and Resend for transactional email, and supports Google, GitHub and other OAuth2/OIDC providers for sign-in. REST API access and webhooks provide an integration path for surrounding systems. Deployment runs as a Docker container with PostgreSQL, so teams should plan for infrastructure administration, authentication configuration and email-provider setup. Documentation and community channels are the stated support routes. Choose Upvora when self-hosting, customizable prioritization and workflow control matter most; teams seeking a fully managed feedback service or turnkey operations should consider another direction.

Upvora pros and cons

  • Where it wins
    • Custom weighted scorecards support structured feature prioritization.
    • Similar-idea detection helps reduce duplicate submissions.
    • REST API, webhooks, OAuth2/OIDC and passwordless sign-in support integration.
  • Where it doesn't
    • Running Docker and PostgreSQL requires infrastructure ownership.
    • Support is centered on documentation and community channels.
    • Vora AI depends on a provider supplied by the operator.
