UPDF is a PDF editor and reader for individuals, businesses, and educational users. It covers document editing, annotation, page organization, conversion, OCR, forms, passwords, redaction, and electronic signing. Its scope extends beyond traditional PDF editing with AI tools for summarizing, translating, and chatting with PDFs. The product is available on Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and the web for AI features, making it suited to users who work across multiple device types.
The freemium structure gives users a Free plan for PDF reading, with up to two conversions per day and trial watermarks on saved documents. UPDF Pro Yearly adds full access to PDF editing tools, OCR, conversion, annotation, and form tools, with use across supported platforms. UPDF Pro Lifetime offers a pay-once structure, full access to PDF tools, and lifetime updates. This creates a clear choice between trying the core experience, paying for ongoing access, or choosing a lifetime license.
Its strongest differentiator is breadth: users can edit existing text, images, and links; mark up documents with highlights, shapes, stickers, stamps, and notes; turn scanned PDFs into searchable and editable files; and manage pages in detail. Forms can be created, filled, and signed, while passwords and redaction address document protection needs. Users seeking a single application for editing, conversion, OCR, forms, and AI document work should consider UPDF. Those who only need basic reading or narrowly focused annotation may not need its wider toolset.
